I miss that man, what has the human statue been up too? Did he sign on with another team?

I think he is in the process of retiring. He moves so slow that his retirement is not yet official. :laugh2: Just kidding.

I don't know why some wont take his word for it that he will retire.

I'm not saying it's impossible he could sign with someone, but I believe he is serious about not wanting to play if he is a backup, and there are very few teams that would give him any kind of real shot at starting.

He's at home waiting for Parcells to come out of retirement again so he can become the next Vinny T.

Vinny Testaverde and he are putting together a new television pilot titled Old & Stiff. Currently, they're targeting advertising sponsors of products such as Geritol and Ben Gay to offset production costs. I've heard that it'll be a great show with guest stars like Bill Parcells and Father Time. Keep an eye out for it!

Drew was a class guy here... I can't for the life of me see why people take pop shots at him... I mean we did have the likes of QC and Hutch right before him... I personally appreciate him for what he was... lol better than previous QBs...

What's it going to be then, eh?

I agree. I just wish he would have accepted a backup role. I'd take him over Johnson in a minute if he wanted to. He doesn't want to do that and I guess I can respect that.

Some got really pissed at Bledsoe for not taking the backup role, which puzzles me. If a long time starter can no longer fill the role he prefers, and he has the means to retire, then why should anyone criticize the decision?

I wish he would have not felt that way, but it is his choice and you can't judge him.

Contrary to what some believe here, not everyone wants to coach or play for this organization. "Wearing the star" isn't a priority for most of these players, including the mega-stars. It is a job.

people take pot shots. it's what we do. many of us wanted to go "young guns" and knew bledsoe wouldn't get us anywhere. didn't like the "caretaker" mold and so forth. a good friend of mine thought i'd be estatic when we signed him and was surprised when i was actually upset.

NOW - couple that with the flood of "drewpies" and the like who forced the greatness of drew on us with every post and who made every flaw of drews someone elses problem and that didn't help drew at all.

notice they're all gone now? THANK GOD.

there's a lot of reasons for it and not many are drews fault himself. but when you get that well known, the ultimate details of "why" don't matter. it just happens, move on.

one of those days i find myself agreeing with you - no foul on his part and i respect his choice to walk away. no harm, no foul.

in the end i think it was all the super-duper-drew-crew posters that really just wore out drews welcome in this group
