If I was Brooking and the defense I would pick a fight with Garrett and his generic play calling. Come on, why do we continue to run the same play four times in a row and get stuffed all four times. On the fourth down play we had Barber and Felix in the back field, you would think if it did not work the first three times why run it again. May be they should have faked the dive play with Barber and pitched it to Felix, to me it looked like he would have walked into the endzone and may be, just may be we win this game. I don't know did anyone else feel the same. Just getting tired of watching this team let everyone, even the mediots dictate how we play in December.

To be honest, the defense did a "good enough" job... IMO the offense, on that goalline fail and Folk's FG miss let the team down more than anything...

They should cut his *** and make him an example. Him and Davis both. I'm with you.

Last I saw of Brooking he was seated on the bench, looking dejected and plain out of gas, during the closing minutes of the loss to the Chargers. He wasn't standing next to Wade offering condolences. he wasn't waving the figurative towel and wasn't castigating any members of the media nearby.

I guess he was on the bench wondering how "his" defense had allowed two very long offensive marches by the Chargers.

His age is really beginning to show.

Nothing personal Brooks, but I hope you are put out to pasture this offseason, because this team will be rebuilding next year and it needs very young blood out there. younger blood that can help carry the new coach into the playoffs with a successfull December behind him.

Just run along now and get your fishing plans made with Wade. You two will have plenty of time to go fishing next year.

...to suggest for firing up your players.

In a game we were getting calls going against our team and it really struck a nerve to the DC.

He decided to get into it with the HC of the other team with a jawing match as they walked towards each other on the sidelines. (Our league has the coaches on the same sideline - bad idea in my opinion.)

Well he got kicked out of the game and I had to take over the DC calls. I called a timeout and sat the entire defence down and asked them if they were willing to take that from the ref - the ejection of their DC.

I told them despite the bads calls from the ref it was up to them to take him and the other team out of the game. Sometimes you can't help having to play against an extra team on the field (your opponent and the refs), but it doesn't take away your chance from winning a game if you do the fundamentals of blocking, tackling and getting the ball across the goal line.

That lit a fire under their butts and the kids won that quarter final game by putting a (50) burger on the other defence while only allowing (1) TD. This was last year and we went on to win the championship.

Kids are honest in this way. They take things to heart and seriously. Many times what they are told is gospel to them and they aren't jaded enough not to find more inside themselves to give to adult coaches.

Maybe this is what is missing in the Cowboys...

that would be a trip to watch! he'd need to kick dirt on the ref's shoes on the way out like baseball!

hes being a good teammate and not saying anything bad about his team or his QB. hes being a good leader and solider for this team. The team lost, okay, but hes not throwing anyone under the bus nor making excuses, he defeneded his coach and doesnt throw it in anyones face.

Where is Brooking now? At Valley Ranch getting ready for the Saints game.

Because the end result vs the Chargers did not come out as most of us would have liked does not really change a thing in terms of Brooking’s feeling that he made clear or the false perception he talked about from those on the outside looking in.

I've been saying this past week. Here are the points given up by the defense past few games.

SEATTLE 17
Philadelphia 16
Green Bay 17
WASHINGTON 7
OAKLAND 7
New York 24
SAN DIEGO 20

If your defense is only giving up 20 points or less for the most of the games, you should win those games if your offense is supposedly above average.

This tells me our offense isn't above average for whatever reasons (coaches, players, bad play calling etc.).

Problem is they are often only "good enough" when the other team is ahead. As soon as the offense ties the game or goes ahead, the defense seems to always crumble and let the other team score on the very next drive. It's frustrating.

Probably having the same thoughts about this team that Zach Thomas had around this time, except since he's a tad younger he's thinking about starting a fight in practice instead of just quiting...:mad::mad:
