So who are the Cowboys looking at?

With the 'Boys looking for Wr help, I think one of the teams in need of linebackers and is loaded with receivers is Cincinnati. Now, I know that trading for Chris Henry is totally not a possibility, but Kelly Washington and Tab Perry are interesting. I am wondering what other teams who have plenty of receivers with experience who can come in and help immediately are considered as trading partners?

I would keep the Raiders in mind.

They are a frequent trading partner who could use LB/DL/CB help and have a wr corps that many envy.

Whitted, Curry, and of course Porter would interest me greatly.
Porter would require lots of ammo but the Raiders could use more defense for sure and a 2 or 3 for 1 swap might work.

Wonder what Jacque Reeves and Al Singleton(or pick your favorite not too costly to trade LB worth something) would bring?

Shanle might get you a bubble WR but we might need a better WR than that with Glenn and TO already limping.

excellent!

I live with Chiefs fans, so have pity on my soul. I do go to at least one game a year to Arrowhead, always a fun time ragging the fans with my Troy or Emmitt jersey on, in the sea of red.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Porter makes more sense in Madden than in real life.

yes - he wouldn't fit here.

I agree with what JTerrel said - Shanle isn't going to get us much, but I don't really see us going with a great WR.

if you want the honest truth, I don't understand why we don't sign Proehl. Is he still available? That's quality hands in a crunch.

What... no Doug Gabriel?

He's a dangerous deep threat.

Think Quincy Morgan... but with the ability to catch a football.

The Raiders connection makes A LOT of sense JT, with Gabriel and Curry being the most realistic choices IMO.

Keep an eye on William Buchanon on Oakland. He's a rookie from USC and has all world speed and nice size at 6'3" 190. He was a guy Bob Dole liked coming out of the draft - he has all the measurables but got caught behind some great WR's on USC's depth chart, last year he spent time in the secondary after USC was hit with a rash of DB injuries.

He'd be an interesting guy to get, In Bob Dole's Opinion - he'd be cheap and could end up paying off big.

I dont like the idea of trading Reeves at all. Glenn will be gone after this year, and also he is turning into a very viable backup and will man the nickel quite well after this year IMO

Porter's that guy in the league who we all think is good, but he does absolutely nothing to deserve that hype. He shows up once the Raiders are eliminated, and gives their fans hope late in Nov. and Dec. that next year he'll put it all together. He's pathetic. Curry and Gabriel actually do things on the field, and are dying to get out there more - so that probably wouldn't work here, lol.

I don't have any alternative ideas, though. Maybe the Browns would be interested in more LBs. Northcutt could give a little depth. Honestly, I would look at teams that run Parcells offense, because they would have the smallest transition.

How about a younger Proehl? Mike Haas, sixth round pick of the Saints, might be available from Payton if Dallas could give him what he needs.

I suspect We're talking with the Lions about Charles Rogers or Mike Williams.

They will carry HUGE contracts though....

I heard Randy Moss is upset with Oakland right now about being pulled last night so let's swing a deal for Randy Moss!! :lmao2:

No way it would happen but just imagine, Owens/Glenn/Moss....

WOW!!

Well, that was fun to think about for a minute!

Reggie Williams of Jacksonville? He was great at UW but has really done anything in the pros.
