The day that Romo grows up and becomes a leader of this team will be the day the criticism magically disappears. Right now we have a 67 million dollar follower at the starting QB position. YAY.

"If we win, its okay. If we lose, its okay. You know, the sun will come up tomorrow - and you guys will just write about it. Plenty of worse things can happen than losing a football game"

He sounded defeated, and insecure. Almost projecting that he doesn't really care, when its really started to eat at him.

He isn't gonna last long if he's already starting to crack.

You would never hear those kinda words from Troy or Michael. Or any leader on the football field. Thats how losers talk.

Its impossible to ever be wrong if you never take a position on anything Alice.

Guys like Deion and Owens perform.

Owens is a hard worker, never misses practice, and works with the younger receivers. Constantly is trying to get the team fired up on the sideline, and chews people out when they don't get their job done. Sure he drops some passes, and people crucify him for that. Tony throws up 4-5 interceptable passes and puts the ball on the ground twice a game - he gets a pass though, because he's humble. And a nice guy.

Your man-crush Newman has been spouting his mouth off about the coaches and accountability. Follows it up with a horrible game (he can't play the ball in the air), and got injured again.

I would rather have guys that play every week, always make practice, and get angry about losing - than lunch pale humble guys that haven't gotten it done here.

So get off your high-horse, and stay out of the thread if you don't have anything to contribute.

Time for the TO apologists to swarm. Did you see the signal in the sky?

TO performs, at times, but he drops easy passes, cant beat a jam, doesnt go over the middle, and would rather lay down than lower a shoulder and get a yard or a first.

To have a 'problems in the locker room' thread without any talk about the proven divider we have on this team is positively ludicrous.

Can't beat a jam?

He gets double covered. He is open on several passes, but our protection and sometimes Romo's injured pinky couldn't get the ball down there.

They wouldn't double him if he wasn't still making an impact.

Wow, did I hit a nerve? :laugh2:

You posted asking about the locker room problems. But your argument for Deion and TO is that "they perform".

So as long as you're talented, what happens in the locker room doesn't matter, is that your argument? Then why post the thread you did?

And just to make it clear, my position is that TO is a locker room problem. I'll resist the deeply hurtful insults, like calling you a woman's name.

He wants to win. He gets mad when they don't throw him the ball, because if you haven't noticed - when he doesn't get the football, we don't win.

There is a direct correlation between Owens being productive, and us winning football games.

Thats why he wants the ball, and makes such a scene to get it.

Undeniable facts, he may cause a stink, but he gives us our best chance to win.

Players that cause a stink, and don't help us win are locker room problems. The 90s teams had players that were 10 times as bad as Owens, twice as outspoken, drug addicts, poor-character guys - but today's mass-media age has painted Owens as a villain. He can't win with the media or the fans, and in case you haven't noticed that's all he wants to do here, win.

You directly contradict yourself. He wants the ball, he wants his stats and you mention it yourself.

Oh, and blaming the big bad media is a laugh riot.

He doesn't want his stats, he's already #2 on every possible list. He needs a Super Bowl ring.

And yes, the media are vultures now. Jerry carries extra media members to stir up **** just like this, I look at the Owner/GM that hasn't won in 13 years with 5 different coaches, 13 different QBs, and countless roster moves.

Than a guy like Owens that took us from an average 9-7 club, to an explosive offense for a 13-3 team. Glenn was our only big play threat, and Owens picked up the slack and more.

Saying we are a better team without him is blind hate.

Talk about not getting separation. Witten, Crayton, and Roy really won't be burning the field up next year - all 3 of them are kinda slow. You must really want the only big play threat we have outside of Felix gone. Miles Austin has potential, but expecting him to pick up where T.O. left off is a little too optimistic.

LOL at Owens taking us from 9-7 (A TEAM THAT HE WAS A PART OF) to 13-3.

So your whole argument that TO can't be a locker room problem is that... He's a talented player.

Your Bill Parcells sig quote is quite ironic given the player you are defending.

Hmm... I guess that same accountability doesn't apply to Owens, who never seems to take the blame, or rather rarely for his sloppy route running or dropped balls, but can chew people out for their mistakes?

Second, talking about making every practice, isn't that anthisis of what Deion was? He was the original locker room cancer, who was the first guy who started to go to JErry overriding the HC, according to Moose etc. He was the guy who said, he rather have Jake Plummer as QB after loss to Arizona. Some team guy.... Talking about High Horses btw.

Now Newman, is one of the loudmouths who talks more than his play on the field, especially in big games. Which has been the problem with this team. And TO normally comes up small in big games. Sure he will have bunch of empty yards, but nothing else, for being a TD machine in normal games.

trade bobby carpenter - he can be a player on the dolphins. i don't care

unfortunately, can't get rid of TO. but he will be gone in 2010 when a new HC is hired.

Is this the first documented get rid of Roy E. Williams post? I admit that I have a lot of the whiners on ignore, so I may have missed some (many) of them. But for posterity's sake, I've been on the lookout because I'm hoping for a few more offseasons of bashing Roy Williams--any Roy Williams--and I didn't really have hope that I might get it *this* offseason, until today.

The Cowboys have NEVER had a divided locker room as far as the media/fans have ever known about. TO has been part of 3 divided locker rooms. Even if Romo is a problem and isn't trusted by everyone on the team, does it help to go on national TV and say it?

Deon is a mouth piece for TO. They are best friends and TO is feeding him info. To complain that there is a media leak when Deon is doing nothing but talking about what is going on internal to the team, is a joke.

TO has been criticizing Romo and Garrett the whole year. Every since the Commanders game (and probably before then) he has been divisive about the team. Now we have a full blown locker room meltdown with players calling others cowards. Have we ever seen our boys do this before?

If I have to guess if it is a guy who has a career long track record of dividing locker rooms, or a guy who has never done so, I pick the guy with a track record. This is exactly what happened in Philly where some guys were with TO and others were with McNabb. doesn't it sound familiar? Heck it has even divided the fans as it did in Philly. Talking to fans on the Beagles they had the exact same fight amonst their fans. But people still blame Romo.

Did Romo play like crap this year? Yes! Did JG call a great game plan this year? No! But it doesn't excuse players for ripping this team apart and that is what has happened this year. This is not a team folks! This is a bunch of ME first people who don't know the first thing about being a team (and yes I'm including TO and Deon in this list).

Believe it or not.............Romo. TO stirred the pot though.

The locker room was divided mid season on with Romo guys, TO guys, with players falling in between.

Romo did not run his mouth or was he outwardly a distraction, but he did not work hard enough or lead by example for this team to follow. Too distracted with other things rather than getting better and winning championships. Team is really down on him right now. Three bad Decembers and two playoff chokes.

BTW the coward(s) T-New was talking about was (Romo and Witten)

Inside knowledge...don't ask for sources.

Pac Man, Tank, etc. They are just small bit players. They don't sway the team either way.

Thats because Tonya Romo is more worried about knocking boots with Jess, I dont blame him in that department though.

Careful. That's a very unpopular card to pull. ;)

Given their histories, to refuse to acknowledge that T.O. and Deion are/were divisive entities in the locker room is prime example of burying your head in the sand and of blatant player worship.

The criticisms against TO are warranted, in my opinion. The two teams for which he played previously imploded, and he was a central figure in those implosions. In fact, the front offices for both team took very little time in shipping him out.

Now, TO's third team is showing signs of implosion, and once again, he's a central figure. Because none of us actually plays for the Cowboys, we can't speak with any certainty about the current team dynamic. However, this all seems a little too coincidental, don't you think?

Regardless of how TO acts this coming season, I think it will be his last in Dallas purely because he will be 36 or 37(?) and a decline in performance is expensively inevitable.
