Let's say that we whip the depleted NYG and continue the tear, take the #2 seed in the playoffs...
who worries you?

My list
#1) Ravens: Their D is about as good as Chicago's and their offense has McNair which > Grossman. I think the Ravens will play San Diego in the AFC championship game.
#2) Chicago: stout D but beatable as the Pats proved. Grossman could look like a star or a bench candidate. Only reason I have Chicago over San Diego is having to play a game in Chicago in January...yikes.
#3) San Diego: Balanced, good D, and LT. Their offense is clicking. Very similar team to ours minus playmaking WRs. HOWEVER, Marty is doomed to fail in the playoffs. Its just his style.
#4) Martin Grammatica.....one word- YIKES!

distantly....
#5) Patriots: They are tough in the playoffs but don't have the playmakers on offense. Defense will remain stout though.
#6) Colts: I don't think the Colts will beat the Ravens, Bolts, or Pats in the playoffs, they're just not tough enough.

Right off the bat... I can tell you that #'s 1, 3, 5, 6 are all AFC teams... that means were are in SB... so I like.

Fear NO TEAM.... I see Chicago there at #2.... we can take them... if Brady can juke Urlacher... Romo can too LOL

The Cowboys themselves scare me.

The Giants loss was the only one I thought where the Boys were just plain beat.

The other 3 losses can be places solely on the team itself. With Romo in the lineup, they beat the Eagles and Jags, I believe. Who knows how that Skins game would've turned out if a) the kick wasn't blocked or b) Sean Taylor is tackled right away.

In answer to the question, no one in the NFC.

Only the Patriots in the AFC.

Already beat the Colts.

San Diego, with Schottenheimer at the wheel in the playoffs? No problem.

The Ravens tough on D...so a bit of a concern there.

Mostly, the Pat's experience is what would concern me.

Carnies. They have small hands, and smell like cabbage.

And the Ravens.

That's about it.

#1) Colts. They've played a tough schedule and only lost one game.
#2) San Diego. They have a great offense and their defense gets tons of sacks and turnovers.
#3) Ravens. This team has a very good defense and a decent offense.
#4) Seattle. This team looks much better with Alexander back. Hasselback was also good once he shook off the rust.
#5) Giants. The Giants looked like the top team in the NFC before all of the injuries and player meltdown. If they get some players back and start to play like a team again, they will give the Cowboys their biggest challenge in the NFC.

The Bears and Patriots just don't scare me. I doubt the Patriots can beat any of the big three AFC teams. Grossman will not put together two good games in a row against a healthy, quality opponent. I think they make a quick exit in the playoffs.

With Romo at the helm? No one.

I feel like I did back in the 3 out of 4 days in the 90's: I think we can beat everyone and no one scares me. We will win if we want it.

It's a wonderful feeling.

I'm not saying we would beat Chicago, but I think it would be an interesting matchup.

Chicago tends to struggle with teams that have deep ball threats at WR because Tillman can't be trusted. Also, Nathan Vasher is great, but he's not much of a tackler and I could see Owens giving him some problems. Urlacher and Briggs could also cut off Witten and with their Cover 2, it could be a problem for Dallas. OTOH, if the running game shows up it could really punish the Bears defense. Then there's Flozell vs. Alex Brown which I think they could play each other 100 times and one would dominate the other 50 times.

Defensively I think the Cowboys matchup pretty well since Newman could shut down Berrian and that takes away Grossman's main target. OTOH, we are average at best at rushing the QB and that could make things easier for Grossman and Berrian could probably give Henry fits. The main thing though is if you can manage not to turn the ball over against the Bears, they can be had. If you can do that and take away the deep ball, they are an average team at best.

I would not count the Colts out....especially if they play at home

I would really prefer NOT to have to play the Colts again. Although I don't think their defense could EVER do a repeat performance of how they played against us. That was their best defensive performance of the year BY FAR IMO and I don't think they could hold us under 28 again. BUT, I really wouldn't want to have to go against their offense again.

I do think that San Diego, Baltimore, and New England will hit Indy in the mouth and Indy won't be able to handle it. They'll rattle Peyton and wear down that smallish DL to keep Peyton off the field.

The Ravens Defense is flat out nasty again. Their offense is much better than the one that won a SB.

As for the NFC....The NYG HAVE to beat us next week and then they have to still keep winning after that. But if we beat them next week and they continue to spiral, they won't even make the playoffs. They are definitely one of the most talented and dangerous teams (when 100% healthy). But unless they snap out of their funk against us next week, I'm not convinced they'll even make the playoffs and if they do...it'll be a repeat of last year's debacle.
The Panthers are VERY talented. They don't have a lot of injuries. They are perplexing. I have no idea why they are playing so poorly other than focusing too much on Steve Smith and not getting their running game going. Delhomme hasn't played well at all. I could see them turning it on in the playoffs, going to Chicago and winning. But we whipped them pretty badly at their place, Colombo handled Peppers, Romo is getting better and better. The Panthers don't scare me, esp since the game would be in Dallas.
Seattle is interesting. Anytime you have a good QB like Hasselback, you have a chance. D Jackson and Branch are very good. Their defense is decent. They could get on a roll but their defense isn't all that good. 69ers just blasted that defense. I think it will be important to get that #2 seed and get to host a team like Seattle rather than have to go there and play a game in January. Huge difference. I think Seattle is a little soft though overall.
Chicago at home would be a very tough game for us period. If Grossman turns it over 4x though, there are a LOT of teams that will beat them and we'd be one of them.

Overall, as long as Romo keeps playing like he has been and the defense doesn't have any disasters (and the kicker doesn't SUCK worse than V-jerk) I like our chances of winning the NFC.

The Bears have faced 1 team with a positive +/- TO margin this season. The Patriots - at +1.

We know how that worked out. And New England even made alot of mistakes in that game.

I watch the Bears a lot (friend of mine is a Bears fan) and they are just great at forcing turnovers. I know plenty of coaches teach turnovers, but I've never seen a coach whose teams are quite as adept to teaching how to strip the ball, get INT's, and the tip drill quite like Lovie Smith.

I know Schottenheimer when he was at KC used to have an ungodly TO ratio every year. Those Chief teams didn't turn it over themselves and forced the opposition into giving it up with regularity.

I always thought TO ratio was alot of luck until I witnessed those KC teams lead the league or be real close to leading it in that category on an annual basis. Those teams set alot of records in that regard.
