Please explain Payton and Eli and the othe players I mentoned.

Be glad to: no trend presents with 100% certainty of outcome.

I also generally like avoiding players that have checkered legal pasts as the trend in them is that they get in trouble again. Some don't. And when you avoid them because you're avoiding those types, you miss out on a great talent.

Everyone has to look at it on a case-by-case basis and in this case I don't like the odds he's starting in this league in 5 years.

Cam Newton if he goes to any team that expects him to start in the NFL within 2 years, which they will.

Prince? Really? What makes you say this?

Leo was a good provider for his family. Smart with his money, a hard worker. These are good things. He made sure his kids went to good schools and had every opportunity they could. They seem to be a great family. But I think coming from a place like that, somewhat counterintuitively, is a barrier to achieving at the highest level. They have and use all the tools for success, but when they come up against a person who has learned these things as well, and who knows they'll be on the streets if they don't perform, the incentive for that little extra something comes out.

I can't say it isn't just a cognitive bias of mine. My mind just jumps to Chris Simms vs Michael Irvin. Not rational, not fair. But adversity in youth makes better players.

Sounds like a plausible argument that would REALLY piss off Clay Mathews.;)

I'm not telling him, you tell him. I've got an Eisen 40 time.
