I havent heard anything about any suspension for him......will we have him for the Giants game??

If he was gonna be suspended it'll would've happened already. Dez will be playing and torching the Giants secondary next week. :D

Don't think so. The NFL hasn't even said they would suspend Lynch. Looks like they might be chilling a bit.

They will probably wait until 10 minutes before the Giants game to tell us he is suspended affective immediately.

Is there any precedent that a player who had an off the field issue during the offseason be suspended one week before the start of the nfl season?

I think Dez has done enough to warrant being overlooked here. He already put himself on probation.

I think the league looks at the rules that the team helped Dez put in place favorably.

But also it is important to realize that his criminal case is still active. Charges have not been dismissed. So the league may be waiting on a resolution to the case.

There really has not been much talk about the league or from the league on the subject. Generally, the league lets the first arrest come and go as long as it was not something major.

Even if he gets suspended he can appeal and still play until the appeal is heard. That could take weeks or the whole season.

Unless he pleas out or gets convicted of the charges then the answer is no.

Every day that goes by that Dez isn't tried makes it decisively less likely that he will be. It's not like new evidence is going to pop up at this point. As long as Dez stays out of trouble, he should be fine.

Once the season starts it's going to be hard for Goddell to warrant suspending Dez without a development in the case.

Yes -- if it is seen as a first offense and isn't severe.

I do think the league waits to see how the charges get played out before a decision though. I also think they are investigating the club incident earlier in the off-season to determine if that should be seen as a first offense.

At this point though, i think what he gets is a fine and a meeting with Goodell. I personally would have liked to see Garrett sit him -- I think unfortunately that our first opponent influences that decision

That's one take. But then why aren't the charges dropped?

Yes!!!! Can't wait to see the boys light up the giants!! I love our chances this year with that defense!

Yep, the league hasn't suspended either Marshawn Lynch or Kenny Britt yet. Those guys are both repeat offenders.

I'm not sure what is taking so long for DA to either dismiss the charge or go forward with it.

maybe just a backlog of cases??

Don't think he'll be suspended and i don't think he should be.

There's far far worse then Dez in the league (despite ESPN and NFLN's best efforts to turn him into the next pacman) that should be dealt with first

Thought that only happened in baseball. Always felt the NFL was pretty quick to get appeal done and over with.
