Finally pull their heads out and make Crayton the holder on kicks?

For the love of God, I really can't believe this has never been considered by the Boy's...Hos and I have been saying it for 2 years.

Considered? He was the holder before Romo started becoming an active QB.
I have no problem with the change, but Grammatica said Romo was the best holder he's ever had...usually on a botched hold or snap there are guys in the endzone to throw to and having a QB is a good thing, but I'm guessing there was panic and no one yelled "fire" or whatever they call.

I'd be more for the switch because of Romo's safety than because I think Crayton would do a better job...just don't put the freakin' punter back there...NEVER AGAIN !!!!

If Dallas is going to use some one other than Romo I would think McBriar would be the guy. Main reason it is always the punter and kicker working off to the side and 2. as a punter taking long snaps is the norm. As for Romo my only issue with him holding was the chance of injury not his ability to hold for a kick. Face it what happened in Seattle was the 1st time that has happened to Romo

Exactly, Romo did a fine job while in there and even Martin said he was a great holder. I'd much, much rather Romo not be in there just so he doesn't get his finger kicked or something wacky like that.

Nope, McBriar was the holder before Henson and Romo took over.

They should have the fastest guy on the team be the holder, "just in case" another bobble happens. :p:

In that case, find the fastest guy who can still throw. I think Crayton would be a good choice, while not being extremely fast he's a former QB.

I'd rather them not bobble to begin with. :laugh2:

And dont forget to practice the Option a lil bit with the kicker too. In case the holder has to scramble with it and when people converge on him he just dishes it off to the kicker.

Wouldnt have mattered this time since he was tackled from behind but otherwise would've been funny to see Gramatica take it to the house off the pitch. ;)

Might as well just put him on IR if you're going to start pitching to Gramatica. :lmao2:

I don't know have you seen Gramatica leaping ability, heck I might put him in on goal line offense. :lmao2:

Do you know why McBriar did not resume the holding responsibilities? It would seem to me that during practice and training camp he would be the logical choice because he's probably standing around most of the time anyway, when he could be getting better at holding?

You think he celebrates after a kick?

He'd *still* be jumping up and down somewhere had it shook down like that.

Maybe we should put him on our field goal blocking team.. put him right over the center to block kicks. That'll probably work better than what we do now, it seems like we just fall into the line and not even try.

I only saw one "leap" after a kick, and Witten caught him in mid air! I never saw him do it again...

Yeah you need a leaper because rules became so strict on defense when it comes to trying to block a FG

Would it be illegal if we had Canty put Grammatica on his shoulders and had him jump up and down?

It wouldn't really strain Canty at all, it would be like a little jitterbug landing on your shoulder.
