So you want a RB in the later rounds?

Skatteboo has been talked about a bunch already.

I’ll be interested to see what his draft stock is. I think he’s an NFL RB, but wouldn’t bet on him being a full time starter. But can he be a Gus Edwards or Deonta Foreman type? Maybe

His workouts will probably either really hurt/help him…can he break a 4.6 40?

Either way I’d for sure take him in the 5th if he lasts that long

Not sure what his 40 will be, but he's been clocked at 21 mph.

I agree.......he won't see nearly as many missed tackles in the NFL.......
That's for any RB entering the league. And I will say that the tackling in the NFL now days is bush league. The players of the past just shake their heads with a giggle.

eehhh

Likeable kid, plays hard. Not sure he's an NFL RB.

I would take him over Deuce Vaughn though.
Explain why you're not sure he is capable of being an NFL rb? I'm talking about making a 53 man roster. Is it his vision, feet, contact balance, speed, toughness, heart...I'm just curious to what you don't see.

I don't know about his straightline speed or his initial acceleration. I think the toughness and physicality he's shown against Pac-12 and now Big 12 defenses won't matter against NFL defenses each week. He's small for a the powerback style he currently plays at, and he's slow for such a small guy.

We'll see how he does against an SEC or Big 10 defense in a few weeks.

I think he's a try-hard kid but not sure he translates into an effective NFL RB.

Dang, I was thinking he'd run like a 4.65 40, but maybe he can pick em up n put em down.
Yeah, I would have figured he'd be 5.5 or higher, but I was actually watching something about him, and it stated he has been clocked at 21. With the way he plays he's not always looking to run away, and his speed is deceiving. I guess we'll see what he runs at the combine, but we all know combine speed isn't the same as game speed.

Yeah, I'd like to see both Skattebo and Jeanty play against tougher competition. Especially Jeanty.

Skattebo (5-11 215) was a zero star recruit and only had two offers, from William & Marry and Sacramento St. In 2022 he was Big Sky conference player of the year at Sacramento St. Transferred to ASU in 2023, Was told he isn't even close to being an NFL player, and that he had to change his body and change his selfish attitude. He took the criticism to heart. He has constantly been told he's not good enough and that is what drives him the most.

  • 2021 (Sacramento State): 57 carries for 520 yards with six touchdowns; 12 receptions for 124 yards with a touchdown
  • 2022 (Sacramento State): 195 carries for 1,372 yards with seven touchdowns; 31 receptions for 371 yards with three touchdowns
  • 2023 (Arizona State): 164 carries for 783 yards with nine touchdowns; 24 receptions for 286 yards with a touchdown
  • 2024 (Arizona State): 247 carries for 1,398 yards with 17 touchdowns; 35 receptions for 468 yards with two touchdowns (ranked 7th in the country in rushing/missed 1 game)
  • Against Iowa St. he added another 16 carries for 170 yards (2 td) and 2 catches for 38 (1)
He is the only rb to have over 1500 rushing yards and over 500 receiving yards. He is also the only starting rb in college to play on special team coverage units.
Skattebo ranks second among all players in all-purpose yards per game, averaging 169.64. His mark only trails Boise State's Ashton Jeanty.

He will make an NFL roster as a 2nd back/3rd down back...good pass blocker and receiving threat. Can he be a bell cow? Probably not, but he is more than capable of filling the roll for stretches at a time. He will be most effective in a tandem roll. He is the kind of player teams like...ASU coaches praised his work ethic and his willingness to do whatever is asked of him.

I'm not interested in a late round RB.
I either want Jeanty in the 1st round or Hampton in the 2nd round.

After that most RBs are on the same level.

He can run a 4.6 as long as his contact balance is elite, and it looks to be.

Plus he is a natural catcher.

I would use a 3rd round choice on Dylan Sampson out of Tenn . If you want quality I don’t think you want to dip past round 4 . Re sign Dowdle to compliment Sampson who’s a prototypical Pollard type and is a pass catching threat out of the backfield . Leupke is he battering ram in this trio
