Soccer fan dies due to lack of sleep?

that is not true, it is considered one of the top four professional sports in North America. In the US it is more of a regional sport like the NorthEast, Minnesota etc and it is only the top sport in one country, Canada, given it is behind soccer in most European countries, but in NA, it is considered one of the top four pro sports.

I tried to ice-skate one time and fell down many times. And, I knew how to roller skate before I tried that!

It takes skills...everyone has them, they need to use them for what they do.

I never really paid that much attention to learning given I could skate but I learned when I was maybe 5 and played hockey starting at 6.

I notice it more from CCF Jr learning. At first he was completely out of the game as a 6 year old as he couldn't skate so he didn't touch the puck much. Now of course, he can skate so he can work on other aspects of the game to be a better player.

It is cool watching him learn that skill.

We all say we wish they didn't fight in hockey etc but not one of us sits during the fight.

Deep down we all love the gladiator sports!

when you think of it mouth,

Ooooh, did I strike a nerve, hoser??

hockey is the one of the major sports that requires you learn a specific skill before you can play, there is nothing natural about sliding on ice while using pieces of metal to cut into the ice.

Yeah, skating is soooo hard to do that you'll even see 3 year olds on the ice...

ROTFLMAO...

It's nice to know you're so easy to bait...

you aren't suggesting that those skills don't come naturally are you?

No, they don't come any more naturally than skating does... some folks can do it, some folks can do it well, and some folks can't do it worth a hammered crap...

You know, kinda like your posting history; you can't post worth a hammered crap... :D

Yes some are better at them because of practice but everyone naturally can swing something or throw, just watch a 2 year old boy and you will see that is true.

The 2 year olds I've seen can't throw the ball anywhere near their target, and their "swing" is a spastic effort that rarely makes contact with the ball... OTOH, I have seen toddlers skating, and they seem to find it quite a natural thing...

however, we aren't born with the ability to skate, that you have to learn.

Bull... as I've said, over the years I've seen literally dozens of little anklebiters skating, and skating well...

Behind baseball, football and basketball... of course, that's mostly because of you hosers up north... if you had real athletes who could play football, baseball or basketball anywhere nearly as well as we do down south, hockey wouldn't be as popular as it is... there was a character in the movie Mystery, Alaska who memorably said "I fornicate and play hockey because those are the two most fun things to do in cold weather"...

That sums up the hockey experience pretty well, it's a game for people who live where it's really cold much of the year... anybody who lives in more temperate climates can find better sports to catch his attention...

But yay, you-- hockey is the 4th best professional sport in North America... you must be SO proud... ROTFLMAO...

Forcing your kid to play that stupid sport should be considered child abuse...

CCF is probably a NASCAR fan, too... he'd watch for the wrecks...

No, we don't... you'll never see me wasting money on a hockey match, or on a boxing PPV, or on a UFC PPV...

Some of us have evolved past that crapola...

I grew up in Texas and I actually enjoy a little hockey now and then it is physical a lot more scoring opportunities than soccer and a lot of motion.

Then again I played some lacrosse in the past and so Hockey makes a little sense to me

I went skating for the first time a few years ago, not very hard to just do, I could turn skate fast, I needed the wall to stop :laugh2: but I found it a lot easier than I ever thought it would be.

I don't mind hockey, I'm not an avid fan or anything but I would put it as third on my list of sports I like.

Football and baseball are basically the only two I watch and I can watch it at any time. Basketball isn't bad but I'm not a fan of the NBA.

As far as soccer, my gosh is it boring for me (don't mean to offend anybody who likes soccer, to each their own, some people find baseball boring which is fine).

Things I would rather watch than soccer, and this doesn't mean I like watching these events, just that they are better than soccer. Gymnastics, cheerleading, tennis, golf, volleyball, and the clincher WNBA :D

The worst part about soccer is the fans who can't believe that I hate soccer and act like I'm an idiot for not liking it. And throwing out the whole "you just don't understand it", and "it's the most popular sport in the world." I really do not care.

Also I hate the UFC, men in diapers groping each other.

As always just my two cents. Ha

repeating the same argument over and over does not give it more weight

Yeah I force him so much he begs me to take him skating at every opportunity he can.

Hockey is more of a rich white man's sport, that is for sure. Poor people like you can't afford the equipment, the ice rental, club fees etc.

As for the cold much of the year, I didn't know 5 months of the year at most is much of the year but maybe that is Silverbear math.
