that was pathetic, i think our guys are just either too young or too old. we really need a good coach too, bradley makes too many mistakes (not saying this game was lost because of him, but he really screwed up in the world cup and shouldnt have been retained)

btw, what a terd of a game. just another reason for me to hate soccer. i already hate it. however, when team USA plays, I am able to get into it....when we play like that, it makes me hate the sport all the more. Howard is a horrible goalie. Also, our defense was about as formidable as a paper fence trying to stop a herd of stampeding elephants.
Even as bad as we played, if we get that goal that hit the crossbar and then the other one from Bradley that just went left of the goal, it is a 4-4 game. Still, Mexico deserved to win this game. They were the better team today.
We blew a 2 goal lead in the Championship game....PUKE....usually in soccer, a 2 goal lead is a cake walk to a victory....but not for team USA. We could find a way to blow a 5-0 lead...we are that inept. Oh well, they still represent my country, so I will still root for them.....

This was a good game. But clearly the us team is overmatched and cant hang with Mexico right now. This really isnt a suprise tho, Riht now Mexico has the under 17 players who wont the world cup playing together and coming into their own. Chicharito, Dos Santos, Guardado, Barrera are heads above anything US put on the field yesterday. Dos Santos was doing anything he wanted whenever he wanted. His target was off yesterday he could've easily had 4 goals. His only goal was something amazing. I know alot of you dont watch soccer but wow what he did on that goal was amazing. One of the greatest goals of all time.

losing to Mexico in CONCACAF is never something about which you should be ashamed.

mexico are easily the strongest team in the competition, was also supporting them as they have a celtic player in the squad whereas the US have a rangers player.
regarding howard he's not world class, for me that term is for the top 5 or so in their position, but he is a very good keeper.
that goal from dos santos was spectacular and from a mexican point of view was stunning. from an american point of view though how in the blue bad place was he allowed so much time on the ball in the penalty box without anyone putting a challenge in on him?

What blows me away is that soccer is by far the most popular sport in Mexico (i'm not sure it is even top 7 or 8 sports in the US). And yet Mexico has never even placed in the top 4 in the history of the World Cup. Beyond pathetic and truly sad.
100 million people and they have almost no champions in any sports...ever.
You would think at least maybe they would fill up the majors with baseball players or something, but no, even the tiny central american nations are better at it.
I wonder if they are the largest nation in world to have soccer as their favorite sport and never even get a sniff of the World title. That would be frustrating to no end. I guess if Nigeria's favorite sport is soccor--but it's probably track and field-- they would be the other nation with all-time frustration levels in sport. I will say this: they have had some outstanding boxers!
Mexico will go nuts if they even make the WC final 4 next time.
