Great road win yesterday.

Huge issues remain with our run D. Hall was dominating with over 8 ypc. Massive holes. Blown assignments. Poor run fits.

If we were in a close game and the Jets didn’t have to play from behind, their run game could have decided the game. We couldn’t stop them.

Forced fumble aside— which was a huge play in the game obviously— we were softer than wet tissue paper. Again.

We desperately need a sideline to sideline, intelligent MLB, that isn’t a liability in coverage. Biggest hole on this defensive roster currently

We 3 priority defensive needs this offseason: Edge, LB, S. Depending on how Revel/Butler look when they return, might need another corner as well. Get a veteran edge cause they take the longest to develop.

Line backers are terrible…D line is ok
the DL can do one of two things at a time. either rush or stop the run. they can't do both. yesterday they focused on pass rush and gave up 144 yards on the ground to the hapless Jets. they focus on stopping the run and get gashed in pass defense ala giants.

No.

O-Shown.

Other reinforcements come next off season. No need to waste future resources on a defense that isn't one player away.
lol this is funny

You're banking waiting on a guy coming back from injury??? It wouldn't hurt us to pick up someone just to have depth. You said future resources, did you also see I said "sign", you're too busy trying to do too much and not reading the entire thing. I don't want to trade anything either, but we could sign someone, the same way we did in signing clowney

Flaws and all the defense didnt give up points. I’ll take that. Against a better team it may be points.

kneeland was out best at setting the edge in run defense. maxi needs to go, his gap assignments are terrible and gets washed out of plays all the time. once sanborn left the middle runs were gashes. say what you want about his ability to play in passing zones but he’s a good down hill run defender. murray is lost when runs go to him outside he does not known where the ball carrier is. James was great in spots. he needs a space eater in front of him to keep him clean. might have found something in him.

safety play again was average. Thomas needs to stay in and play and we need a true ball hawkingFS cannot play 2 SS and do anything in passing game.

my needs are
LB
FS
NT
you need 2 of each LB/FS and one good NT to rotate with clark.

It makes me wonder if the run defense is really fixed. But the Jets are 3rd in the league in rushing yards averaging 144 per game, the same as what they had against Dallas. It is still early. Can't blame Sanborn. Hall was gashing them after Sanborn left with an injury.

We solved this issue. We now have an elite run defense. Your legitimate concerns have been moved into a resolved status.

Definitely need to trade for a linebacker if this team is serious at all this year. I like James in spot duty, but we need a real presence at middle linebacker.

I think the idea is this team will not win a title so why waste future resources. We are more than a LB from fielding a competitve defense.

I agree but once again I also mentioned signing one, you don't give up picks for free agents

My thing is Kendricks is better than the LBs Eberflus brought in, so why the stubbornness to not sign him again. Ok, you don't like Kendricks, cool, find another UFA veteran available or even raid a PS for a LB (Kyzir White, Ja'whuanBentley) but stop acting like it's not a problem and the solution is in-house.
