COPPELL, Texas – Cowboys defensive tackle Solomon Thomas hosted his sixth annual free youth camp in partnership with his foundation, The Defensive Line, at his high school alma mater Coppell on Saturday, welcoming in hundreds of kids from ages eight to 17 for an afternoon of learning football, and the importance of mental health.

"Coming back to my hometown where everything started, the field that I started on, where I fell in love with football, I just want to give back to these kids," Thomas said. "I think football is such a beautiful game, it teaches you so many things in life.

Sacrifice, discipline, routine, hard work when you don't want to work hard, it teaches you lessons about life you wouldn't learn outside of football."

Thomas was originally inspired to start his own youth camp when he saw his old San Francisco 49ers teammate Arik Armstead doing it years ago and has enjoyed putting smiles on kids' faces ever since. This year's camp is special, as it's the first that Thomas gets to host as a member of his hometown Dallas Cowboys, and he wants to continue to impact the community in a positive way.

Hmmm...wonder why this has not got any comments. No one can find a way too make it a negative.
:lmao:

This is the type of stuff we need to hear more about.

I have a felling Thomas will be a much better FA signings then many expect. From all the things I read lately about him.
He could be the DT they need to help stop the run. He may not be all pro. But along with Mazi improving, if Eberflus can motivate him, and his schemes work for them.
And retaining ODiggy as he improves, and see if Toia comes along, or Rogers does as well. It will be one of the position grips to keep an eye on during TC.

So many of these guys do so many good things that no one remembers or talks about. I remember reading about this when he was signed, but didn't remember that he was from Texas

The guy is a decent human. Sometimes this just speaks to the character of the person and player. Nothing phony or egotistical.

Jeez, like clockwork. The irony. I don't think you even realize that you are probably one of the more negative people on here. You just can't stand it when there is no conflict in a thread

On your scouting report of Thomas you are incorrect. He has not been a good run stopper at all. It is a weakness for him. He will be more of a rotational and 3rd down guy. The benefit he brings should be that since Eberflus (at least in the past) blitzed less than most and liked to just send 4 that Thomas may help with that strategy a little over a guy like Mazi and whatever other DTs make the roster other than Osa of course. It remains to be seen if Eberflus will drop his edge guys inside in the nickel. If he doesn't the obvious pairing will be Osa and Thomas. Personally with all of the edge rush talent we now have (on paper at least) I think we will see a lot of Edge guys at DT on 3rd and long

He actually resurrected this thread 2 days after nobody posted on it just to bait people into posting something negative so he could say " stop being negative!"........

This will disappoint him when I say, " I love this kind of story!!!!!"

Bro.
At some point you have to reconcile the truth that you regularly hear this same criticism from a growing number of people, against the truth that you are alone in your denials.

Could be there is truth in these criticisms that keep coming at you from all angles?

Players do a lot of things in their communities but sports media rather cover the nut that got a DUI and not the guys doing really good things

The criticism is by a few of you, that constantly rag on my every post. It is like you exist only to rag on me, and the team.
Growing number of people?
Yeah we get enough that spew constant hate, trying to gain control of the hate mob mentality.

Don’t know if you guys watched him in college, but he had a stretch where he was just a straight-up game wrecker. I mean just dominant stuff on the interior of that line. Comments on this vid. may sound like extreme hyperbole, but at the time, they felt very legitimate. Cowboys will really have something if the coaches can bring some of this out of the player.

Great to see/hear Solomon and others involved like this with their community.

Yeah to them if 2 people say the same thing then its a "growning number of people". He does that tactic with me too.

Yeah he was dominant. Admittely, I rarely recognize him when he plays these days....hoping we can get something.
