Just going to sub in who I think would work and why, I don't have time to look up the height and weight but if anyone wants to add and chime in their subs feel free:

4 DL, 1 Hybrid, 2 LB, 4 DB (Big 4-3, effectively 5-2 vs run)
DL: Everson Griffen
DL: Dontari Poe
DL: Trysten Hill
DL: DLaw
Hybrid: Aldon Smith/Randy Gregory

4 DL, 2 LB, 5 DB (Nickel)
DL: Everson Griffen
DL: Tyrone Crawford
DL: Trysten Hill/Antwaun Woods
DL: DLaw

3 DL, 2 Hybrid, 2 LB, 4 DB (Big 3-4)
Hybrid: DLaw (Standing Up)
DL: Everson Griffen
DL: Dontari Poe/Trysten Hill
DL: Tyrone Crawford
Hybrid: Aldon Smith (Standing Up)/Jaylon Smith (DPR)

- I really think DLaw can be as effective as Clowney is standing up. Not that Clowney has much production as of recent but his build is similar and he can use some of bigger field of vision to wreak havoc if they decide to run even better than he does now.

- Aldon Smith can stand and put his hand in the dirt, do think him and Jaylon from the same side would bring hell

- LVE is going to do wonders for our defence this year which is really underrated on this sub, get that everyone is scared of his neck injury but if he comes back to 2018 we will get some turnovers against the Rams who will be just as unprepared for what's about to come with the defence as is fan zone

I think your nickel alignment is off. Replace Tristen Hill/Antwuan Woods with Aldon Smith.

Also, not sure Griffen would be in there in the Big 3-4 alignment. It's tough to ask him to two-gap in run defense. Now, if we run a one-gap 3-4, I'd have no problem with Griffen as a down lineman. A Big 3-4, though, usually has bigger players than Griffen on the line.

After having a very vanilla defense for several years, it's going to be exciting seeing a defense that employs many different looks and disguises what they plan to do. A lot of veterans with an successful track record added to the unit make it the line even more intriguing with the possibilities. Finally, we may have a front that can dictate to the offense, no longer the other way around.
