and they are owed by me.

First apology goes to Jason Garrett. I wanted him and his seemingly unimaginative playcalling gone with Wade but he has really done a great job in a short time. His winning attitude and accountability are exactly what we need. I hope he gets to hire (on his own) some experienced Coordinators but I love the direction we are headed in now.

Because I was wrong about Garrett I owe Hostile an apology too. He was 110% right about this guy. Hos is still about 95% wrong about Jerry Jones  but he was dead right on Garrett. Kudos.

Third and final apology goes to the players. It appeared several of you gave up 6 games into the season and that would have been unforgivable. Most of you have shown a ton of heart and fight the last 5 weeks and even in a loss, you have made Cowboys games watchable again.

Jerry Jones, you still suck. Your piece on 60 Minutes should enlighten the world on exactly how myopic and egotistical you are. Your brilliance in Sales takes a hit with your constant meddling in Personnel. When I heard Stephen held you up against the wall I instantly promoted Stephen to superhero status. I cannot wait for the day when you are no longer the self-appointed General Manager of this team.

What did you think when the Emperor informed you that Stephen Jones handles all player contracts, including the ones you and your mewling buddies thought Jerry "overpaid" for?

Is Stephen Jones still your shining white knight?

I apologize for eating that chili this weekend.

I apologize for reading this thread. ;) :p:

I have notified the offended parties, they should be posting here directly to accept your apology.

That 60 minutes piece gave alot of insight into the mind of Dr. Evil

He handles the paperwork. Jerry still determines who gets signed, drafted, and traded for. People will see what they want to see.

Bad form sir. First Hostile posts, then you post. Know your role.

By the way, I'm still here. Not quite the "slayer" you claim to be Buffy.

"On a day-to-day basis, he oversees the operations of the Dallas Cowboys and the team's current and future stadium venues. His work involves managing the organization's 300 employees, including the coordination of the Cowboys entire Player Personnel Department, overseeing the salary cap and all major player contract concerns."

**********

"Jones was the key negotiator in the work that brought All-Pro wide receiver Terrell Owens to the Cowboys in March of 2006. He also took the lead in negotiating the contracts for other recent free agents such as offensive linemen Leonard Davis and Kyle Kosier and safety Ken Hamlin.

"Over a one week span in the spring of 2005, Jones was instrumental in the distribution of $30 million in signing bonus money to quarterback Drew Bledsoe, defensive tackle Jason Ferguson, cornerback Anthony Henry and guard Marco Rivera. The signing of Ferguson, Henry and Rivera all took place in one day, March 3, the biggest signing day in club history."

So I guess you're right about one thing: people see what they want to see.

Yes. He was talking about paying the money to Deion and said that Stephen physically put him against the wall and asked him if he realized what he was doing.

Yes, but unfortunately it was 15 years ago as BP pointed out

I don’t understand the need for everyone to apologize or eat crow regarding Garrett or the Cowboys.

The team appears to play better since Garrett took over. How much of that is because the players saw their coach get canned and realized they were not untouchable? Austin said this very thing on the NBC interview.

How about “good luck”? Everyone was willing to say bad luck was the reason we were losing. Couldn’t good luck have caused a few wins these past weeks? Funny how that works.

Next year will you be happy if the team just “plays hard” and ends up 4-9 again? I thought the standard were Super Bowls? Wade Phillips won a lot of games as the Cowboys coach. He left with a very high winning percentage. Yet that was not enough. Now all of a sudden...oh hey the Cowboys didn’t get blown out...i was wrong about Garrett! LOL!

Untill Garrett wins me a Super Bowl, then i will eat crow. Anything below that i will not accept.
