as regularly mentioned before, courtney brown is alittle more muscled up, about 205 now, and he had great deep coverage on a pass to T O, but T O wrestled the ball away from him on the ground, but im hearing good things about brown

alan ball though especially on punt coverage etc, kickoff is letting the returner get to the outside, this is a note to watch and keep in mind because remember we lost our key cover guy especially on punts with keith davis going to miami

hurd had a couple of good catches, but on one play again, spencer had coverage on him and missed the sure interception

However, hurd caught a deep bal thrown perfectly by Romo at the deep back of endzone where only hurd could catch it, so look for that play maybe later in the year

tank johnson is making plays, hustling, looks like he might become a leader, and he might start some at NT, rememmber a note that the cowboys want to put Ratliff at LDE some on obvious pass rushing plays, so keep that in mind

a guy by name of salvio is a huge NT, not sure if he is our true backup NT, but hearing as far as size, he is comparable to jason fergueson with a true thick chest etc built for NT, so keep your eye on this guy, reports are he is huge,, taller than listed and big thick trunk like arms;

all i can remember now, just trying to let you guys know

It's Junior Siavii.
Wait a minute.....is that the huge NT Kansas City drafted a few years ago? I know that name rings a bell. He is Samoan I believe. I didn't think he was in football any more.

Yep, that's him.

I always called him fat and lazy until I found an old article about how he didn't have much of an upbringing, didn't start football until very late, and didn't have anyone to teach him about life other than his college coach. Then I felt kind of bad. He seems like a good guy who probably just wasn't mature enough to be a professional. But I don't think there's much doubt he has a lot of talent.

Frankly, this is the kind of guy I wish we'd try to help rather than guys like Pacman.

and kansas city probably miscast him as a 4-3 DT.. his frame is clearly that of a NT.

There is usually at least one surprise by the end of TC. Maybe this guy can stick. I wouldn't mind moving Ratliff to DE. Does anyone think Ratliff can't play DE? Is he just a NT?

considering we drafted him as a DE and he performed well there for a year or 2 I think he can manage :)

That would explain why he is so thick. :laugh2:

When I lived in Oakland for a short time, I went to school with a lot of Samoan kids. All of them were rather large.

yep, he is big and thick, the guy that was with k city;

he had some workouts in the last few OTAs, but nothing really stood out about him from what i read, but they did note that the guy is huge, big and thick, so maybe something will come out of it

he was the guy too that someone mentioined here earlier that didnt really get any training, till his college coach, so maybe just starting to scratch the surface

im like some of you guys, i feel to make the 3-4 defense work, you need a big huge NT to clog up the center and guard, keep them off of the inside linebackers, also the big NT can push the pocket back and push the Qb back outside to the linebackers or DE's

im hearing great things though about tank johnson, and he has huge arms too, awhile back i read where tank earlier in his career was just using his size and shoulders to make plays, but not the coaches are teaching him the importance of his hands, etc

and mickey spagnola did a great piece on him awhile back, saying even i remember newman and ware saying that in the offseasoning conditioinng that tank is going to be a beast.

as far as ratliff, yes, he can pressure at ODE, but i am hearing now that the cowboys are primarly using him at NT, switching him with tank johnson, also ratliff quickness alllows himself to be used in coverage schemes too, when he isnt rushing the QB, he can drop back in a zone and cover some in the middle of the field,

so either junior or another NT had better step up or their days or numbered
