Some Draft Comments of Past "Quinn Ewers will be #1 overall pick"

Sorry that I misspelled ole Quinn's last name!
Ewers was drafted in the 7 the round...231st pick

This is not as much a callout (not naming names) but more of a reminder of just how off we can be regarding the draft.

So many here in preseason said Ewers would be a sure fire first rounder. And a few even said that he would be the 1st overall pick.

Hey, same thing happened back in 2014 with Johnny Manziel...but even way worse.

Or comments about Duece grabbing the starting RB roll and never looking back a couple of years ago

As always, we'll know soon enough how the guys drafted this turn out.

But the draft can be humbling if we will bother to remember our (and everyone else's) misses.

Well look at how many said Sanders would be the first QB taken or high in the first rd.

The Media quite often gets it wrong
so why should all the internet experts on this board be any different?

I did not see a single QB worth a first rd pick as I have stated before so none of this surprised me

I had a feeling he was never going to be a great NFL prospect. Always screamed System QB to me and it looks like the scouts agreed. We'll see if he can have a successful career as a backup

Quinn just isn't good at timing routes, which is 100% important in the NFL.

Same for Sanders. From 1 overall to 4th round....it's why I think it's silly to assume x,y, z player won't make it out of the first round. It happens. Doesn't mean they won't be a good player..they just drop down from the proverbial consensus rankings for various reasons in the actual draft.

Although Sanders is a little different in that he would have gone in the first couple rounds based on his play, and he fell apparently because his interviews were historically bad. Ewers fell because of his play, skills, etc

It was just one player. He didn't exposed at all. Everyone breathing air was wrong on Sanders. No one had him going in the 4th.

Cam Ward may have been the sixth QB taken if he was in the draft last year. Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Bo Nix would have went ahead of him and JJ McCarthy might have.

What I am saying is this was not a good QB class overall, and teams that took them this year might be searching again soon. So it's not hard to see people overvaluing players like Sanders and Ewers.

IMO, Ewers ceiling is a backup, not as good as McCoy, but good enough to stick somewhere.
