I didn’t think he would even be drafted. He won’t be in the league for long.
I don't think you did, Hardline. Maybe said 1st round, but so did several people.Give me one post where I said Ewers would go #1 overall.
well, honestly, there are a number of big time college programs that have not done a lot better. Iowa for example has not had a starter for a NFL team since the 80's.The irony about Texas Longhorn football is that it is one of the winningest programs of all time, yet it hasn't had many long-term successful NFL quarterbacks.
They've had none that were long-term starters in the past 60+ years.
Bobby Lane in the 50's was the last one.
Vince Young got drafted early but was gone soon
Even a program like East Carolina has had 2 in the last 30 years or so
Jeff Blake....100 starts...a Pro Bowl
David Garrard....76 career starts...some playoff success...a Pro Bowl
That's 2 more than UT....lol
I say this and my daughter is attending UT, so not being a hater
It's just weird

a number of Big Ten schools can say the same. When was the last Northwestern QB to make it big in the NFL? I cannot think of any. I think you could look at teams like Texas A & M or Texas Tech and there have not been many.
Look at the SEC. Several teams there not much better.
I would bet that half of all the FBS teams have never had a good starter at QB in the NFL
Longhorn players were good this year, I'm just glad we got one. Quinn shoulda kept his mullet and then he might of won a natty and gone #1 overall. He does this every year. Overvalues Longhorn prospects and then disappears when its time to for recompense.
The thing about Ewers is he was highly regarded committing school. Maybe someone can tap his potential.please name names,if you watch him for 1 Quarter you know he sucks,i genuinely believe Texas would have won the natty with a better QB.
Vince Young was successful wasn’t he? Jeff Fisher officially killed his career but it started off ok fromThe irony about Texas Longhorn football is that it is one of the winningest programs of all time, yet it hasn't had many long-term successful NFL quarterbacks.

This is the interesting thing though….weak class yet some of the bigger names couldn’t get drafted.Cam Ward may have been the sixth QB taken if he was in the draft last year. Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Bo Nix would have went ahead of him and JJ McCarthy might have.
What I am saying is this was not a good QB class overall, and teams that took them this year might be searching again soon. So it's not hard to see people overvaluing players like Sanders and Ewers.
Yes. Briefly, when he started out,Vince Young was successful wasn’t he? Jeff Fisher officially killed his career but it started off ok from
Whet I remember.
5th (!!)It was just one player. He didn't exposed at all. Everyone breathing air was wrong on Sanders. No one had him going in the 4th.
Look at Alabama. It has not had that many. Bart Starr, Stabler and Namath. Tua is still in question. and it has had more talent then pretty much any other program over the years. Purdue is nowhere near as storied but certainly compares with Alabama as regards NFL QBs. Len Dawson, Bob Griese, Drew Brees; the first two in the HOF and Brees almost certainly will get in.Good point
I was thinking more in regard to all-time great programs, but point still stands even with them.
It's more rare than it seems

You say so many bizarre things it’s natural for one to assume.Give me one post where I said Ewers would go #1 overall.
