Some good news on Irving

good news and bad news. good news is he'll probably have a monster contract year, being a big help to our defense....bad news is that we probably wont be able to afford him in 2019
I was thinking the same thing but honestly we will have a lot of cap space next offseason. Tony dead money comes off as well. I saw somewhere we could have up to 30 million in space. Not sure if true

Smart move.......if this kid has a double sack year, look out. He's looking at DLaw type $$$$.

As it stand we have 65mil in cap space in 2019, ignoring any cap roll over or increase in cap.
Also, Scandrick, Witten and Hanna still are on the books, and they may not be when next year rolls around
But of course it's not including Martin, Lawrence or a possible Irving re-signing.

Well, that gives us a year to find out what we have in Taco. Tapper? Forgotten man or never gonna happen? Let Irving have his big year here. Let's see what you got big man. In the meantime, work a contract with Tank's agent and who knows, Irving has a stellar year and we tag him in 2019 or we find we have something in Taco Thursday

That’s insane we could have that much lol thanks for the update

Agent says Irving likely to stay with Cowboys this year because he wants to put in a full season and test true free agency next year. Has signed a 1 year lease on his apartment and retrofitted a gym in the garage.

That is a lot of good news. If things work out that way, it will be great for everyone.

Thanks for sharing the info!

65 mil is plenty of money to sign those guys, if the contracts are done correctly. Of course Jerry and Stephen have to do it, they seem to be better lately at that, let's keep it going!

So, if Irving is that great, tag him in 2019 after we work out a contract with Tank's agent. Irving get's his year to show what he has over 16 games in 2018 (that hasn't happened yet) and a year to grow up and mature. Does he mature like a fine wine or smell like limburger cheese after a year.

The reality is over the last two seasons, Irving has been great in half the games. The other half he was either suspended, injured or just plain didn't show up. If he's here for a year for $ 2.9 mill that's a steal of a deal

If the Cowboys know they aren't going to pay him then maybe they should trade him.

I want him on the team but I don't trust Dallas to get anything for him.
