With the supplemental draft concluded, and only CB Paul Oliver and OT Jared Gaither selected, that left 9 prospects who did not get drafted... two of those, DE/OLB Mark Washington and DT Brian Soi, have since been signed... of the 7 remaining prospects (perhaps it's overly kind to call some of these guys prospects), there are 3 that I find mildly interesting, that might merit a shot in training camp:
Robert Armstrong, DT/OL, Morgan State... 6-4, 320 pounds, 5.1 second 40... some scouts think he'll be better off moving from the DL to the OL; my interest in him would be predicated on him making that move... he did suffer a back injury in college, though, and I'd want to make sure his back is not going to continue being a problem before I'd even think about making him an offer...
Aaron Turner, OT, East Central Oklahoma... 6-6, 350 pounds, 5.3 second 40... great size, long arms, quick feet... better blocking for the pass than for the run...
RoShawn Turner, CB/KR, Central Missouri State... 5-9, 186 pounds, 4.4 second 40... to me, would be more of a prospect as a kick returner than as a cornerback... averaged 21.5 yards per punt return in 2005 (with 4 TDs), albeit at a very low level of competition... still, speed often translates well to the NFL, and this guy has run a blazing fast sub-10.5 second 100 meters...
You do have to recognize that these players are fringe prospects at best, but like Parcells said, "churning" the bottom of the roster is a good thing...
