We may not have made huge waves, but Jerry and Wade nonetheless FILLED a number of NEEDS on this team thus far today.

Seriously-if DeShaun Jackson is truely the life-line for Philly, then why not just crown them NFC Champs right now? Heck-let's go right ahead and crown the Skins Super Bowl champs b/c they got 2 of the best receivers in the draft.

I was disappointed with the Felix Jones pick, but looking at what happened, he would not have lasted to #28.

Great pick up in Jenkins.

My girlfriend says I am unbelievable. Lol. I love this draft though. I like Felix Jones. I think in a couple of years no one will be questioning this pick.

Great pick up in Jenkins.

I don't think Jenkins would have lasted till 28 either!

Excuse us for thinking someone other than Dallas could have a great draft. I know we're all supposed to think everyone else sucks and everything we do is phenomenal 24 - 7, but the 'Skins have had a great drat so far. They got outstanding value for both their WR picks and their TE pick was solid.

I don't really understand our TE pick - especially when there were still good WR's on the board - but he looks like a really strong prospect.

I didn't think Mendenhall would have lasted till the 23rd, shows what I know.

I'll take our TE pick over the Skin's.

And I think time will bear out the thought that Kelly does have a chronic knee problem.

I loved the Jenkins and Bennett picks

I had a big problem with taking Felix Jones over Mendenhall, however. That will almost certainly come back to bite us.

Exactly. At first, I was really disappointed in Jones picking Felix at #22. Then, what happened?

Steelers picked Mendenhall one pick later.

Titans picked Chris Johnson next.

If Jones HADN'T traded up to #25, Jenkins wouldn't have gotten past the Chargers. No way. They freaking reached some (sorry Hostile) for Antoine Cason at #27. Now, if I had a choice between Jenkins or Cason (sorry again Hostile), I have to go with Jenkins.

We run a two running back offense. We have a punisher in Barber and a speed back (who's better than Julius, btw) in Felix. No one knows with 100% certainty what will happen with Adam Jones, so the cornerback pick up in Jenkins was outstanding.

Solid first round, imo. The second round, otoh...

All I'm saying is that I think San Diego would have gladly taken Jenkins at 27,one pick before us. Jerry wanted him, plain and simple.

(I'm gonna sign off till the wee hours after a lot of viewers are sleeping off the many beers....Should be able to get on at will then! IMHO,a very good first day.)

It's not so much that I disagree with WHO we picked as much as I just don't get (despite several people's explanations) why we would trade our 2nd round TE (to the person who DRAFTED him in that round) for only a 4th round pick

...and then spend another 2nd round pick on the same position

...when we have a Pro-Bowl TE on the team already

...and are supposedly very high on the other TE on the roster, Tony Curtis.

We seem to stockpile TE's, and although the player may be the best-rated and a potential great player down the road, I just look at our two 30+ year old WR's and fail to understand why we don't draft WR's unless it's in the lower rounds.

I don't entirely disagree, but if you look at who was left at #61 who represented maximum value and Bennett was right there.

I think we all should agree how incredibly weak this WR class actually was in every GM's eyes. For goodness sakes, the Jets selected a TE at the end of the first round before a single WR was taken.

I suppose. I think that may be the reason Cincy, Zona, and Detroit are asking for such ridiculous trades for their WR's is because this year's crop is so weak.

But our guys aren't getting any younger.

Jerry had said in an interview on NFLN that essentially the WR talent available in the draft was no better than the upcoming WRs we have on the roster, and that anyone we picked would need work, just like our current group.
