Some of you will never be positive, or happy about anything

What you need to raise your eyebrow to is...

Of all the many thousands of negative posters, badgering daily/weekly...

If we won the super bowl only a handful of "good job. We finally did it, good job Cowboys" out of many many many hundreds if not thousands of posts/posters that post Negativity.

Negativity is your default state? Yikes

no, if we win superbowl. I will be on rooftop screaming. I will be here eating plates full of crow. I will openly admit I was wrong. I will celebrate for a couple of months and feel giddy.

fantasy land is your default state? yikes

:hammer:Exactly if we don't join the hate club and pick up our pitchfork and torch you know enjoying them we're homers apparently we're not allowed to actually say positive things about our own team... I will defend the star for life I don't care who the owner is who the GM is I don't care who the quarterback is i'm going to support this team no matter what people are like no you can't because that would benefit jerry you can't help Jerry all he is is about money he doesn't care...

That's not my concern I just get ready for September and I watch 17 games and I cheer them on till the very last seconds tick off the clock and then we can have an actual conversation about how the season went not guesses doom and gloom not you know for a fact they're going to have a bad year you know how every player is going to suck nope we watched the games we like the season in and then we can discuss how it went good bad or indifferent we can be honest...

This is like conversations I've been having a lot lately with Mavericks fans and I'm a Mavericks fan now i'm not quite the diehard Mavericks fan as I am a Cowboys fan I'm football fan first i'm a Longhorn and a cowboy after that I tried to split my attention between the other three teams in the Mavericks the stars and the Rangers in that order.

This is the crazy thing and I can't stand this so many people who are Mavericks fans ran out and bought Luca jerseys you know Laker Luca jerseys now I understand you're a Luca fan but also understand this is no different what if Michael Parsons or one of your favorite Dallas Cowboys left and went to the Eagles literally similar to what happened with Saikwan Barkley leaving the Giants and going to Philadelphia I wonder how many Giants fans bought Philadelphia jerseys with the name Barkley on the back because if they did they were never Giants fans and I'm a Mavericks fan and I have been programmed to hate the Lakers this is a rival it's been a long standing rival in the West there's no way I can root for the Lakers I understand that I'm supposed to be positive about Luca and I hope he has a great career but I don't want him to have good games I don't want the Lakers to succeed I'm sorry I'm not programmed that way I am an actual fan that I don't jump ship I don't leave and I have no conditions on my fandom I literally just watched the game I treat each season as a 1 off but man people who are now Lakers fans because Lucas there but they allegedly were Mavericks fans..

You will never convince me that you are an actual Mavericks fan if it was that easy for you to move to one of the most hated rivals in the West for Mavericks...

I mean I bet there is some people in here that if they love Micah Parsons or pick whoever you want on our team left and went to the Eagles they literally probably would buy an Eagles jersey and those are the people we're talking to right now we're talking at you if you're not a Cowboys fan you can't get on board with being a little bit positive and excited about the season I feel bad for you you don't sound like a real fan..

And yes you're allowed to be disappointed you're allowed to worry as a season going to go well you're allowed to say negative things but when 75% of this board is nothing but negativity and it just sounds like I walked into an eagles website instead like I went to the wrong place by accident because sometimes that's how it feels and that ain't right BUT too Each their own....

But you will never get me on your side of talking trash about my own team 24 hours a day it gets old II just not going to do it I don't think they're a Super Bowl caliber team this year but I do feel like it's going to be a better year than last year and that's all I can ask for anything else would be a bonus...
exactly, if we don't celebrate anything cowboys do and be giddy, then we are haters apparantley. we are not allowed to be realistic or criticize meaningless moves about our team.

each fan is different. some don't live in lala land. some haven't lowered the bar because they want to feel good about their team, because God knows there hasn't been much to celeberate. some don't hang a banner because we made a trade. what is wrong with that?

So why can't some fans be happy for the positive changes going into the 2025 season.
They always bring up the 29 yards whine.
That is in the past. Look what is happening going into 2025.
are the changes going to make this team into a superbowl team? are the changes have long term vision and a plan? or are the changes done in silo, one year solutions and then worry about next year and next year's move? where is the plan? what is the plan? how are we closer to being a superbowl team? some of you all are hanging a banner and putting a trade trophy on the mantle...that's called lowering the bar....

The Cowboys have the 8th best record in the NFL for the last 20 years. Now that’s not good enough as the goal is Super Bowls but to say “Unfortunately they are on the losing side of that ledger consistently, which goes to the larger point of them not being very good at roster construction” is disingenuous and just outright wrong.
now do the same excercise for post season success....I challenge you.

I guess you didnt read my post where I said what they’ve been doing is not good enough. Next you’ll be making up things that you say I said.
you chose to post ranking of regular season, but just kind of said, hey we don't need to look over there its not good enough.

cowboys are 30th worse team in post season in the past 30 years........

I wish they handed out trophies for regular season sucess. unfortunately that's now how it works.

you can't tell somebody how to be a fan. every fan has an emotional attachment to the team for one reason or other....you have yours. you want to celebrate and shout from roof tops that we made a trade and how great it is. some of us haven't lowered the expectations and the bar. superbowls is how you measure. not a trade...
so if this makes you happy, then your bar is much lower than everybody else. enjoy it. your choice. don't buy ketchup. be happy with burnt toast. nobody is blaming you. but stop trying to pump sunshine up you know what and then point fingers that they should go away because they don't feel the same.
I can tell them, they don't have to listen. Just like they can't tell me not to be a homer

lol

jerry and steohen trade for and sign a bunch of bust player and get one good player who also is stupid on the field and need a new contract and u want every one to throw a parade or what

go win some thing then ill stop that is the only way i will ever stop being negative and complaining

dont even have to be the super bowl just make it to the nfccg

Finish this statement. For me I’m going to say some of you will never be positive, or happy about anything. There’s no winning for you! When the drought is over, you will find a way to poop on it somehow someway…

Look, I’ve callled out Jerry and Sons as much as anyone the last year and a half and even for the better part of three decades. But don’t be so ridiculously pompous, that when they do something decent or that makes sense, you have to drag it in the dirt a few times before you’re Alishasatisfied that enough of you’re type of company is on the same page. Misery loves company!!!

We’ve been begging for this type of off-season for a lot of years. It’s been nonexistent. Most of you here either didn’t take economics, or didn’t do well in any type of applied mathematics, so you don’t understand the math behind the scenes. You gripe about everything because you have a lack of understanding. Theres no hope for this group. With what the FO has to work with, and what they must accomplish this off-season, they have actually done a good job so far in 25’. If you can’t say that now, you will have no right to change your tune , if the moves they have made this offseason prove to be successful!

My point with all of this is even if you are a hopeless fan, there can be days where you have to admit some decisions they make are a win for the team. You don’t have to continue the negativity to the point where you look like the person you’re claiming you hate! There will be plenty of reasons to do that later. Be happy when they actually do a good thing!!!
Jerry likes happy fans that spend. Please divert your eyes from the trophy case that has not seen a new addition since the 90's.

I can tell them, they don't have to listen. Just like they can't tell me not to be a homer
be a homer. hang a banner. put up the Trade Trophy on the mantle. enjoy it. but don't question me if I don't celebrate like you do...you agreed with the OP and he is telling everyone that they should celebrate and be happy.

See, here's where some of us will disagree with your assertion. Trading for ONE starting quality players doesn't make for a successful offseason.

Acquiring scrubs, busts and depth players to fill starting positions does not make for "Mission Accomplished.

Personally I LOVE Acquiring Pickens because he's a true STARTER and the only trepidation I have is when his contract comes due.

It doesn't mean we're unhappy because we've seen this reluctance to participate in free agency as we've been among the lowest spending teams in FA the last few seasons.

We understand the mathematics of the game and that's why we've been concerned about somebody's 60 million and out LB about to get 40 million+.......but when we bring that up we are told " not to worry about another man's money" or called a "hater"

You can't have it both ways

Lol, I was 21 when we last won the Super Bowl, I'm now 51. I'm in win now mode, I do not wanna wait another 30 years to win another.

I have been a member on this site since day 1 or 2, that's over 20+ years and I know alot of the members that use to be on here are no longer on this site.

At this rate once we win it all, it will be all new members on this site, new mods, while none of the OGs will be here to celebrate the drought. 30 years and counting.

Please Jerry, money aside as no matter what you do the Cowboys while profit. Therefore spend money, don't worry about cap hell as you can get out of cap hell in 2 year and rebuild. Take some chances, big swings, and try to win this thing over the next 2 years.

Make more trades, who cares what you trade, mortgage 1 year of draft capital. Yall might think I'm joking, I'm not.

Trade our 1st and 2nd for available stars and go all in for 2 years then worry about cap hell in 2027 or 2028.

no, if we win superbowl. I will be on rooftop screaming. I will be here eating plates full of crow. I will openly admit I was wrong. I will celebrate for a couple of months and feel giddy.

fantasy land is your default state? yikes
nope. Reasonable land is my default state.

Are we crying about crying again? Win something and it will stop. You’re getting paid like the best so play like the best. Quit comparing players we have today with our old stars. Who has won anything here? When have our coaches won? Quit blaming the fans for your inadequacies. Winners should never like mediocrity.
