Yes, I know we just lost some tough games. And, yes, I hate how were not using Dez Bryant to his abilities on the goaline etc. Here's the positives in the first 5 games and read through everything.

Philly_(2-4) still has to play

New England on Nov 27= That games out of the way for us already and Belicheck will have his team prepared to start their playoff run.

NYJ on Dec 18= Jets will be fighting for their playoff lives here.

Washington has to play

SF, NYJ,Buf and NE

New York Giants have to play

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

NE, NO, At SF, NYJ and Green Bay Packers GOOD LUCK WITH THAT

Point being, our tough games are out of the way and the division still has to go through the gauntlet we just went through. Division record is KEY this year as I see the division being won at 9-7 (with that being first tie breaker I believe.) Look at our schedule

I can almost 100 percent guarantee we win the following games
Home vs Miami
Home vs the Rams
At Arizona
Home vs Seattle

I know the games are played on the field but work with me, if you were to handicap these games wouldn't you put them down as wins?

That puts us 6-3. That means we will need to go 3-4 against NYG,Wash, Buf, TB, and Philly.

It's between us and Philly believe it or not. Philly doesn't have that bad of an outer division schedule.

Home vs Chi
Home vs Miami
At Sea
Home vs Arizona

I'm telling you we need to knock these guys out in 2 weeks. They have a ton of talent and if they put it together look out. These guys fly up and down the field at ease on offense but always find ways to screw it up and get no points. Can Vick last the season?

Washington's done. The QB carousel has begun and the sad part is if they had a decent QB yesterday they might of beat Philly. They have three average rb's to go with a decent oline.

The Giants have every Superbowl contender left on their schedule. They're done.

That leaves us. If we beat who we're suppose to beat and split with the division were fine. Tony Romo will be fine and lead us to the playoffs. In closing, we have played

NYJ 4-3 a top tier team
SF 5-1 2nd best record in the league I believe
WASH 3-2 Our rival
Det 5-1
NE 5-1

We are right there. I bet if any top team in the league besides GB and NE goes through that stretch they will come away 3-2 or 2-3 like us. Especially with 3 of the 5 on the road. The real season starts after the Philly week. It's not out of the question we will be 3-4 then but I really think we can start our playoff run at that point. Just my opinion.

Bro...i agree 100% with everything you said

That's what i am trying to tell everyone, not to panic, we have a good team...if we beat Philly, we are in good shape...Giants have a hard schedule..mainly because they suck...and so do washington...it will be Cowboys, vs the Eagles, like old days....we just gotta beat all of them...which i think we can....

Lions will start getting their *** whooped as well so wild card or division win could be right there for us

Nothing is a guarantee in the NFL...but i watched the giants..watched the Commanders..not only can we mop the floor with them healthy...but they will lose a few other games as well....and after watching our team..i know we have the ability...to really bury teams..if we cut back on TO's(like in the NE game, bad coaching killed us that game)

You really need to start to look at this Oline before you think we can mop anyone. Its bad very bad, and if they dont start running the ball, this team is in HUGE trouble.

Dont think I have seen such a bad oline in 20 years. Then went cheep and this is what they got. And Free, he stole JJ money, he should start to give alot of it back, no way was he worth what they paid him.

Sorry for the length of the post. But please take a minute and give your thoughts:

I believe that we are literally the best team in the division and that our rough start will actually help us long term. Our players should be feeling pretty surly right about now after the way they have lost the early games and the way that they have been roasted for it, had their abilities and heart questioned by the press, had all the circus and negative comments, etc~

I see this team coming out with a killer instinct and that they will not let games slip away as the season goes. Even Garrett has got to be developing that attitude after JJ commented in the press after the New England loss about how we "should" have gone for the kill instead of playing conservative.

Rob Ryan on defense will have his guys amped for the duration. I have no doubts there.

Everybody knows about the O-Line, by everybody, I do mean everybody. The coaches have had their abilities called into question over it. I expect that we will see a change in styles for the run game coming up. I also see Murray as a hard nosed runner who knows when it is time to take what is there and not dance around or try going wide when it isn't there. His attacking style of running was nice to see. He stays healthy, he may become a featured back while Jones is "eased" back... if you know what I mean. People lose jobs sometimes when their backups show the team what it wants to see. Felix may indeed be a change of pace guy after all. That may be his "natural fit" in the NFL. We shall see- but improvement is the prescription.

If we do see that improvement in the run game- we should be able to sweep the division. That's right, I said sweep the division. In fact, I don't see 11-5 being out of the question. I really don't. This team has had their collective noses rubbed in it early, banged up on one hand, youth on the other... a bad combination but oh, the affect that the early unpleasantness has wrought on the team may well be a motivation spur to last for a very long time.

I see us as almost the sleeper pick today, but others will soon recognize what we really have here. Most of those with the eyes to see, already know. And I am liking it.

11-5 and division champs. Where we go from there? Anything can happen as we all learned from Green Bay last season. That is us this year.

That's my two (or three) cents and it is how I truly see it. Feel free to flame away as it pleases you. I'm old and have wide shoulders, it won't hurt me a bit. Promise. ;)

I think Free is really struggling because of Guard issues. I know it sounds like a cop-out on the surface, but it has to be unsettling when you are not sure that the guy beside you will be able to hold up.

He was able to just go play last season when Kosier was lined up beside him and he was great.

I have a friend who hates the Cowboys and was looking at our schedule and still has us going 11-5 and even has us getting to 3-4 after Philly..

Im thinking we go 9-7 and hopefully we have the tie breakers to win the division.

Agree with the comment about running the ball. This O-Line is obviously not built for the "power" running game. But that is not the only running game in town. We should see a switch in our play style in the run game. Murray looked good and he rarely ended without some sort of a gain. His 3.2 yard average isn't too far off the mark and changing our style to suit our lines strength should get us over the hump. Peete should be talking with Houck about run styles if Hudson hasn't figured it out on his own.

Don't forget these guys never played together as a unit till this season obviously and a big part of an O-Lines effectiveness in just familiarity with one another... and game experience for everybody not named Kosier and Free. These guys needed some time and Houck has had enough opportunity to learn their strengths and weaknesses now. Time for him to earn his pay as a coach and actually coach to our strengths. And stop trying to force a square peg into the round hole. Ditto for Garrett.

As for the worst you've seen in twenty years? C'mon man... I know that we have both seen plenty worse than this group.

Have you seen a Boys team that has run this bad? The longest run a RB had last week was 8 yards, Romo had the longest run.

8 freaking yards!

Did you know that Felix Jones averages 4.0 yards per attempt on the season? That puts him exactly on par with Ahmad Bradshaw of the Giants. Is their O-Line as bad as you suggest ours is, or is Felix the superior back? You choose. Four yards per rush on average CONSISTENTLY would be great.

Our problem has been CONSISTENCY. We need to be able to run "effectively" and that means that we want that 4.0 yards in bits of 4.0 yards... not a 15 yard gain, a 5 yard gain then 4 and two -2 yard losses for the average... that won't work. Know what I mean? Positive yards on each attempt. Even a small gain. Murray is a more direct runner with good vision from what I have seen and he doesn't tend to lose yards- he takes what is there without dancing and east/west nonsense. He gets his opportunity now to show us more.

Back to the O-Line. Romo has been sacked 9 times this season. hardly the most sacked guy in the league. And that without a real run game to keep the defense honest. Roethlisberger has been sacked 18 times, Alex Smith 16 times, and Matt Ryan 15 times. I guess our guys can pass protect better than some guys, even with that handicap, eh?

Sure our O-Line needs to improve pass protection AND run blocking, but the worst you have seen in twenty years? You must not watch much football if that is true. Not even the home team in Atlanta.

i agree my boy

I am starting to believe that this Rams game will be a catalyst to a 4-game run. I am not scared of @Philly. We can handle them in their house.

Right now only team I have any concerns for is the Cowboys. We just need to start finishing game off. As for post season We still control our own. With 1 win over the Skins and 1 to play, 2 games with both Philly and NY if we take care of our business we can win the East.
