By my rough count, he had like 11 games last season where he averaged 44-plus yards per punt. Had six games where he averaged 50-plus yards.

And he averaged 43 yards last week, compared to tonight's 47.

Plus, it was 2006, not his rookie year of 2004, when he set all kinds of punting records and made the Pro Bowl.
Point blank, McBriar sucked last year. The year before he was a stud.

Point blank, McBriar averaged 47.1 yards/punt last year, good for 5th best in the NFL.

I thought Proctor looked pretty good in relief of Gurode.

I'm glad to hear that, but I'm really not too surprised, or too encourage... his problem is being overpowered, and the Broncos use smaller defensive tackles...

Thank you Hudson Houck.

I plan on naming my firstborn Hudson...

Even if it's a girl...

Of course, I'm 56, so that plan may be moot...

Not if she's in her 20's. Surely you can rise to that occasion.

-I am falling in love with Scandrick :........and i am man enough to admit it.

-The TE, Hannah (sp?) looks promising.... although i don't know if there will be a place for him on the 53 man roaster.

-special teams look so much better.

-Adam Jones looks like he got his groove back.

-Felix continues to impress everytime he gets the ball in his hands.

-Brad looks so much better behinde the 1st team OL..... imagine that.

-Oglsby seems like he got something..... between him and Scandrick, Ball might be in trouble.

-Zach just seems to be a lot faster and ahead of everyone else on the defense.....already. On most plays i've seen him move towards the player who is going to get the ball before the ball is even in the air. ONE BAD HOMBRE.

-Glad to hear Ellis got on everybody. First team defense looked bad, although they were playing very vanilla.

-Austin appears to have finally arrived...................hope he gets back soon.

-We are going to block some kicks this year!!!!!

I disagree. He made a horrible decision to throw that INT. The receiver wasn't even close to being open and the ball is probably still intercepted at worst, knocked down at best if he continues the route that direction. If Bartel hadn't thrown it then, and waited a tiny bit longer, Lowber would have cleared the defender when he cut the other direction and been open for an easy first down and a good shot at the TD.

That INT wasn't on Bartel, it was on Lowber. Lowber was supposed to run and in-and-out by design, but decided to run and in-and-out-and-back-in-again: not in the play book. Bartel was going off what the receiver was doing in the planned route, saw he was open and threw to the window. Lowber went the other direction as soon as Bartel threw it. This isn't backyard football. They actually have plays drawn out before they get on the field, not in the dirt during the game.

What I do like about Bartel is his athleticism (chasing down the DB after the interception what would've been returned for six), his fire (getting in TE Atchison's face after not realizing he was the hot route) and his abililty to go through the progessions. Not everything was pretty, but you could see him moving his head as he was looking for the open guy.

He'll still be the PS QB this year and Johnson (better performance this week, but would like to see more) will be the backup. Perhaps Bartel will take the number 2 spot next season, provided a deal isn't done before the end of TC to bring in another Vet QB.

not really directing this at u, but everyone. just to settle this, it was Amendola not lowber. laufenberg mistook 18 for 16.

Hey Cowboys! I didn't get to watch the game last night as I obviously didn't get coverage, I was watching the pay by play on ESPN..Only thing that concerned me a little was Cutler going 16/20 and had a TD...were we just playing soft coverage or was he really dicing us like some dinner veggies?

both, we had no pressure and we were playing about as basic a look as you can get. he was sharp. that is too be expected though he has oodles of talent.

that is why coaches are paid so much, gameplanning and attacking the weakness of the opposing teams. When you dont, talented people do big things.

I really like cutler.

I figured we weren't putting on too much pressure.. and I really like Cutler too, he was my favorite QB of that draft. Thanks Theebs, now I can stop worrying the rest of the week lol

I thought Free played very well.

Thanks for the screen shot theebs to set it straight. You can also see from it that Amendola is moving in the right direction and would've been open for the pass. When he switched direction, that's when things went awry.

Scandrick had a nice game, as did Oglesby
I will have to disagree with you there. he played better in the 4th quarter against the 3rd team, but in the first half against the first team unit, he was getting toasted.

I disagree with this as well. This was on Bartel, not Amendola (#18). The play looked to me like a quick hitch designed to get the first down (it was 4th and 5). Amendola ran a quick hitch inside and stopped, which he is supposed to do, but Bartel was way late getting the ball there, so Amendola started running again. If the ball is there when Amendola makes the cut, its a first down. But Bartel threw the ball after Amendola had already committed to his right, trying to get open, which is why the ball was out of place and intercepted.

I don’t think so. The first down marker is at the 5, Amendola is coming back at around the 7 with the defender draped on him. Bartel should have hit #13 on the right, that would have been his best bet.

I think Bennett was also in on a ST tackle after that catch...
