As a DC resident, no one wants to beats the Skins more than moi. All I ask is for a little respect for our opponent and a little restraint. Tracking down Romo's grandparents tells me things have gotten a tad out of hand. Even the Arizona game is no gimme if they play it like their Super Bowl. Let's pull back from the brink of insanity, people.

Insanity has gotten an unfairly bad rap, IMO...

Actually, I'm da ursine...

Bear with me, I'm just in a pretty fair mood today... started training for a new job this week, a bit of a promotion for me inside the company, and an old girlfriend dropped me an e-mail from out of the blue today... then my Horns won, all's right in my world, at least for a few hours...

...seriously

It's past time we started enforcing a little discipline in here... I figure if we kill just one of the naysayers, the rest will fall right in line...

Predictions are overrated these days.

There was a time when humility was thought to be a virtue and people were always careful to respect their opponents. No one (relatively speaking) ran off at the mouth, they let the game speak for them.

If there WERE predictions made, they were thoughtfully considered before they were offered, and there was the acknowledgement that "on any given day" it could be proven dead wrong.

That is why when Joe Namath came out with a "guarantee" prior to their Super Bowl win over the Colts it was news. Now a days we have WR's guaranteeing victory, offensive lineman guaranteeing victories.

It means nothing.

And on this board it means nothing. If you are RIGHT you have nothing to boast of, because what is it costing you to do it?

I can predict right now that we will run the table and win the Super Bowl. If it turns out that Dallas does this, does it mean that Fox Sports will hire me?

No. Nor should they. Why? Because what was on the line FOR ME? Nothing. What did it reflect, some penetrating analysis of Football? No, a FAN who WANTS his team to win so PREDICTS they will. Plain and simple.

So, when I see "predictions" on this board come true, I really don't feel the need to offer kudos. Anyone can "predict" anything, its just a matter of words. Is it really based on football knowledge, or a fan's "hopes" one way or the other? I really think that a lot of the "predictions" on this board about a lot of things have nothing to do with football or the team, or interesting discussion of future possibilities, rather it simply reflects a person's desire to boast.

Just my opinion.

Well lets not take predictions so seriously, I think that the majority of people are prediction the Cowboys score with their hearts more so than anything and its not like we have the mindset of "predict the right score or die *****es!". Theres no real incentive for predicting and its nothing more than a simple prediction just for fun and anything can happen in sports. Its crazy these days...

Oh No, I don't take anything said here too seriously.:laugh1:

I'm just a pessimist and kinda superstitious.

I'm from the Lou Holtz school.
"We're not a very good team and we'll probably get beat all the time ".
I don't believe it, but thats just the way I like to look at things.

Don't like being disappointed and my way of thinking helps.

Kinda dumb ,maybe, but watcha gonna do.:)

My last name ain't "the Greek." I don't predict games. I desperately want Dallas to win, and have been doing so since 1978. Happy?

Now the only posters who agree with you are Commander and Eagle fans ..... what does that tell ya?

I wanted to go ahead and make my prediction since I'm about to head out to the bar and catch it and will be away from the computer.

Cowboys 20-17 ... Romo directs a drive late that culminates in a 46 yd game winning FG by Vandy. Later. Go 'Boys.
