Ladies and Gentlemen.
We are currently sitting at 4-8. We have a 7 in a row loss streak earlier in the year. We have managed to win one game without Tony Romo and chances are Tony Romo is not coming back this year unless we make the playoffs.
Let's address that idea for a second. If chances are that Tony Romo is not coming back this year unless we make the playoffs....which chances also mean...we will not see Tony Romo coming back because chances are we are not making the playoffs.
We have a much lesser chance of going on a winning spree than we do a losing spree again.
There is a better chance that last nights game could be the last game we win this year.
With that said...people who claim they are only upset about the loss because it hurts our draft stock need to lay off of that line of thinking. I think some are thinking that if we don't get a top three pick we won't get a TOP QB in the next years draft...here is a shock to your system...Even if we have a top three pick, chances are slim that Jerry is going to draft a QB with that pick and he has pretty much said so this year and has said in the past that he will draft a top QB when it is time to replace the starting one. It is his way...maybe that will change but at this point chances are slim.
To the game last night.
What a stinker. Going into Over Time might have been the only other thing that could have made it worse.
The defenses came to play but the offenses stunk up the joint until the last few minutes.
Some fans are happy with the win, I don't think any fans are happy with the execution. Even Jerry was not happy with how it went and that says something.
So just because we won it does not mean we are happy with how the team has played or played last night. So that hyperbole by some people needs to stop. It does not mean we like how they played. We are just happy that they won a game against a heated rival.
Sean Lee had another killer game last night. Sometimes just because he does not make dynamic plays, people think he is not playing great...even on nights that he has not been as dynamic...he is still a good player at worst. He leads the team with tackles and I think his position shift is the reason he has not had the INTs he has had in the past.
Ro.McClain...maybe it is just me but there is times where he runs up to make a tackle and just stops or pulls up. I seen it a couple of times last night again. It is not in a manner that he does that and the offensive player gets more yards. Sometimes he does it as the player is getting tackled by another player and maybe he is afraid of getting a penalty or something. I just notice it once in a while and seems kind of odd how he will stop.
The last couple of years i noticed players always trying to strip the ball...even after the whistle for the play to be over was blown you would still see a few attempts to rip the ball free. I have not noticed that much this year and so I tried to keep a bit of an eye on that last night and they are just not doing it as much as they used to do and that could account for some of the lack of turnovers from fumbles that we used to generate.
D Law had a nice game last night. Many of us joked that he must have read the thread about him so it turned on a light with him. However chances are the real reason he had a good night was Coach Rod changing some things up and his plays where he got to the QB or rushed the QB were with the line stunts.
Last night was the first time in a while we seen the defense play to win vs playing not to lose in some time. I think they know that any chance this team has to win is on their shoulders.
McFadden and his sudden fumblitis...Sucked, not sure what he was doing but it gave Turbin a bit of a chance to play a little more. Frankly at first I thought there were starting to abandon the run again some but finally got back to it.
D.Jacksons little dance before he made that idiotic return and fumble had me laughing. It reminded me of Primetime Sanders when he was with the Skins...can't remember if it was us playing him or another team but I remember him back there waiting and doing some kind of crazy look at me show off dance like he was famous for only to fumble the ball...So That brought back a good memory.
I have said this earlier in the season and I noticed it once last night but it was not called...I swear I have seen Zack Martin false start. It is just a slight movement back, nothing dramatic...but maybe I have just been seeing things.
For those that want this team to lose going forward (whether hiding behind the draft excuse or not)...You might start hoping Dan Bailey gets hurt soon. Frankly without him this team does not score much. The number of times we have to settle for FGs seem to be a reflection of this coaching staff. Too afraid to be confident and go for it so they play for the FG. Then again I guess with this offense...it would be hard to be confident.
Next weeks packers game. They are coming off a longer off week due to playing the lions. They have lost a few games and you just know they are licking their chops to beat the dog crap out of the cowboys in order to get back to winning...Arron Rodgers is no Curt Cousins. The packers D might not be great but they will still find a way to score and them being hurt because they lost Nelson will probably not hurt them vs the Cowboys as I imagine they will have a breakout performance from a WR or two who have been mediocre the rest of the season.
Ok...just some observations and opinions. Everyone has em.
