I just had some thoughts that I wanted to share coming out of the game yesterday.

  1. Happy with the win
  2. Romo INT was just stupid by Romo. It was clear the corner was sitting on the route and baited him into the pick 6. He has to see these things.
  3. I liked how hard Murray ran and that we got our running game still going. That was nice to see.
  4. I need Murray to hurry up and get over this fumble crap. We can't have him fumbling once a game every week. It's going to comeback to kill us at some point.
  5. Mo was just terrible yesterday. Just...ugh. The kid has to step it up.
  6. Run D didn't seem nearly as stout without McClain in there. I know at one point Stacy had like 70 yards on just 12 carries.
  7. Tony Romo did seem like he moved around better today than he had been. Stepped up nicely a few times and moved around the pocket a bit better.
  8. Our defense can't stop a TE to save our lives. 3rd straight game a TE has eaten us up. Next up Jimmy Graham. If you're a fantasy league player and you have Graham you're already counting your W this week. TE's have to licking their chops at the idea of playing our defense.
  9. I would love to see McClain and Spencer coming in this week. Hopefully Spencer can give us something, anything, because we have no pass rush. It's really really bad. The pass rush is even worse than I feared it was going to be. I
  10. Bruce Carter played pretty well.

hitch played very well too. romo seems to be getting better each week. he is moving better, throwing better. i think he is getting in better shape and shaking off the rust. and after an injury like he had the confidense also has to be rebuilt. he seems to be coming along.
i hope we put a cb on graham all day but even a cb will struggle with him. in the red zone you have to double him. and the safeties will need to play well this week because they will throw down field

The defense isn't as bad as some of you like to think. We have provided pressure. ..... that's what led to the Carter pick 6. They make goal line stands, and crucial stops when the game is on the line. They are a work in progress but they are better then last year and are only improving and will get some players back soon

Technically the Titans ran the ball better against us with McClain (6.4 YPC) then St. Louis did without him (4.0 YPC).

You are correct. I didn't look at the overall stats. Just that caught my eye at one point in the game.

I'm with you for the first two weeks but I just rewatched the game and they were absolutely terrible on Sunday. They only forced one punt, they couldn't stop the Rams, they drove up and down the field every time. Other than the 2 ints, they only stopped them on the 4th down play on the Cowboys 10, the bad snap by the center at midfield and the drop by the TE in the end zone. We need McLain back asap.

They were pretty bad. Especially early. And it wasn't just one area.

I do think a lot of it had to do with the back:back road games. Those second games are tougher than people think. And we had a bit of a letdown with a bad Rams team playing it's third string QB with the Saints coming in to Dallas the following week. We'll find out, soon enough, but I think we see a better performance from the defense across the board next week. With or without McClain.

Overall the Defense has been better than most thought. But not consistent either. But they have made plays at critical times a good % of the time, it seems anyway.
I still see way too many open WR / TE. Run defense is about what I thought. They can make stops, but also leaves you thinknig, why can't they stop them. But no defense will stop even some not so good offenses everytime.
Not saying Rams weren't good on offense, as they sure looked good to me.

From the 1st 2 games, in the Rams game, RoMac was missed. Carr seems to be playing much better, but I can't say that with 100% certainty. Mo, i'm not so impressed with, but no one should be. Yes, great INT to end the game. But he was burned quite a bit. now even deion had his bad games, and this was bad for mo compared to the previous 2 games. I can see him starting against the Saints, see what he does. But I would bet he gets replaced very quick, once burned.

No pass rush, as in getting a sack when needed. Seem some pressure, but not the kind we all want. Hopefully spencer helps upon his return, then DLaw too.
It's all still needs to come together, but may take a few games longer than expected, and that's just to be average.

On Offense, Murray runs hard. I like him more than I did last year, but I'm not 100% on him yet either. Time to bring up Ryan williams, maybe he can do what we thought Dunbar was to be used for. Not impressed at all with dunbar so far.
Romo looked better than the previous week. That will be needed against the Saints, if it becomes a shootout. Dez seems to be getting more comfortable, or Linehan is finding ways to get him involved more. I think we only seen the tip of the iceberg on this offense. Afterall, they too are getting used to another play caller.

I'm not any more optimistic than at the start of the season, but feel a bit more comfortable, it will get better.
They did get more TD's than FG's this week. Though one was a pick 6. When Bailey makes a FG, and it does not split the uprights, is that a bad kick for him. :D

The turnovers are what saved an otherwise scary performance. This was a Brian Schottenheimer offense with Austin Davis at the helm,

Rams fans probably feel they have a Kurt Warner scenario now....but actually can't blame them.
But lightening does not strike twice in the same spot...or does it...LOL

Yes, there was much to this game that needs to be cleaned up. And they will need it for the Saints game.

Technically the Titans ran the ball better against us with McClain (6.4 YPC) then St. Louis did without him (4.0 YPC).

This is actually a direct result of our offense being able to run the ball so effectively. We control the line and the clock so well that when the other team gets the ball, for once, they feel they have to abandon the run, no matter how well they are actually running, and go to the pass game to stay up with us. Sound familiar anyone? How many thought this would happen this year? I have to admit, I was very anxious about my beloved Cowboys going into this season but they are starting to give me hope. Run, run, run.... is all I have to say.

I'm pretty sure Romo had some steroid injections in his back, he can't do that every week so we'll see how he moves this week.

You nailed it with this defense being an improvement from last year. We still need Spencer and Lawrence in on snaps so we can get an assessment of what our entire group looks like.
