Some thoughts on the Jets

Lets pray that Wade and Killer Davis are ready for their return team, because Leon Washington is a monster on kickoff returns.

Kellen Clemens while young and inexperienced, has a strong arm, has good pocket presence, and is mentally tough. He doesn't let mistakes, and things bother him, much like Tony Romo.

They are a good tackling team, especially #25 Kerry Rhodes. He is a playmaker, and IMO as good of a safety as Sean Taylor. Their rookie corner Darrell Revis is solid. Their pass rush was not so good early in the year, but they had i think 7 sacks on Big Ben last week, so we need to be prepared for their pass rush. Up the middle especially with Robertson, who is big and extremely quick.

our coverage unit has been terrible all season. we need to kick away from washington.

Yea, they suck.

Agreed, let's not get the anointing oil out. They are now 2-8 and coles looks to be out at WR. Just get it done: really shouldn't be a problem.

Jet 1-8

Lets not make them sound like the 85' Bears?

They are 2-8 and they have been in every game except the pats.

They actually were a play away from beating the giants, skins and eagles.

they actually outplayed and should have beat the giants and skins.

They have weapons to spread us out and throw it. Get us in nickel or dime and then run.

There line is poor so we should force some mistakes through pressure but this is no easy game.

I saw them give the 'Skins hell for 4+ quarters at FedEx, and that was in Clemens's first start. If Cotchery doesn't drop a third down pass in overtime in that game, they're on their way to attempting a pretty makeable game winning FG.

jets are a mediocre, lower rung team with a parcells-like coach that has them playing scared, staying in games but ultimately getting beat and giving up leads.

alot like belichick in CLE

lame defense, inaccurate QB, no secondary, yawn.

clock mismanagement galore. prime example yesterday 30 seconds left 1st goal, spike ball (now you lost 33% of your chances for the win), run, timeout, pass, FG).

if we don't beat them by 11 we played poorly

Another thought, and I know it's basically silly and superstitious, but I am glad they knocked off the Steelers yesterday. They'd lost too many in a row, and I had been hoping that streak would end before they got to Texas Stadium!

I don't like our Special Teams coverage or Return units.

On coverage I feel like we over run a lot of tackles, like Randle El's late punt return yesterday.

On returns I feel like our guys jog to the 20 yard line and are amazed when the coverage is there. Rock Cartwright hit holes and then breaks tackles too. Leon Washington hits the coverage at full speed.

It concerns me to be truthful.

This is likely to be the only national coverage game they play all year. I expect the best from them.

I agree. They'll be up for the game ... just like the Bills were.

We're our own worst enemy. Mistakes are what kepts the Bills and Skins close.

Well before the Giants game, they had been proclaimed as having the most fantabulous pass rush in the league, and they only had one sack against us, our pass blocking is on par with some of the best teams out there. Our run blocking, however, is a different story. We will need to be able to grind out yards on the ground at some point this season.

We handled Hester as a kick returner, so I think we can deal with Leon.

I think it could be a close game, but only if we hurt ourselves again with silly mistakes. I think they'll be trying hard not to give anything deep to T.O., so he doesn't score 4 TD's on them, so I'd look for Witten and Crayton to pick up the slack.

I'm going to go ahead and predict a TD for Sam Hurd, just for the hell of it.

Yeah, we really sucked against Chicago.

losing our wedgebuster Deon Anderson is more detrimental than previously thought.. the cowboys could really use him on special teams

He probably tore his cuff "wedge busting", poor guy.

The Jets are in every game. They probably weren't as good as their record last year and they're not as bad as their record this year.

Not silly at all. Or, at least, that was my first thought, too.
Clemmons is going to be a good QB. They've been building towards that upset win for several weeks now, and I'm glad it came a week early. Now, they're going to want to get a streak going, but I'm glad that emotional pressure was released this week against the Steelers, and I'm glad b/c it gives our coaches something obvious to point to in making a case not to overlook this team on a short week and after the run we just completed.

I know that some people don't believe in the "trap game" theory but this fits the bill as well as any game NFL wide this season. Short week against a team with a bad record sandwiched between arguably the biggest rival and a hyped team.

Dallas does seem to match up very well with the Jets though. Offensively, they don't run the ball particularly well and their short passing game isn't their strength. Defensively, they can be run on and do seem to give up more than their share of deep balls.

Echoing others, Washington on KO returns is probably their best weapon.

If there's anything the Jets excel on it is ST. We can't let them get a few easy scores on KO or punt returns.
