Some thoughts on what we might be looking at in 2025

It's very early, but DT, WR, RB appear to be the top 3 needs. Edge could be as well, but let's see how Kneeland plays this season. Also, now with Dak signed, time to throw some darts at the position in hopes of finding the next Dak/Romo to develop.
Those 4 positions are my take as well. But, I don't see us taking a RB in the first though. Probably around the 3rd-4th, unless they ignore it again. Also, having not drafted a DT in the first in 30 years and then getting burnt with Mazi, I don't think we go there in the first. This is assuming we're drafting in the 20's and dependent on who is available, but probably won't go DT.

That would likely leave WR or Edge, imo. Cooks is on the last year of his contract and Tolbert is just a borderline #3.
At DE, I believe DLaw is also on the last yr of his contract and his getting up in years. Williams hasn't panned out yet and will be coming off a major injury.

Right now I'd say the odds favor WR in the first.

I agree WR is my favorite in rd 1 at this moment, but wouldn't rule out DT or Edge, either. A runner somewhere on day 2 makes sense.

Based on what you’ve laid out, sounds like we’re going TE.

R1. WR
R2. DE
R3. RB
Cowboys don't value DT enough to think they'll draft one high unless it's a 3T, which, presents the question is Osa getting a 2nd contract in Dallas?

Running Back is a significant need, and another Wide Receiver could be just as crucial.

If Martin decides to retire, they will likely opt for a cost-effective approach and just promote TJ Bass to his position.

Defensive Tackle is very much crucial, but it seems they are clueless about what to look for in them. Despite known mental and psychological red flags, Trysten Hill and Mazi Smith were still selected way too early.

The issue is that Jerry manages the draft, and he's too easily impressed and far too impulsive. They really wanted a Running Back, specifically Jonathan Brooks. Jerry carelessly leaked that, and the Panthers jumped up to draft him. Jerry was in his feelings and they ignored the position, passing on guys like Trey Benson, Blake Corum, MarShawn Lloyd, Jaylen Wright, and Braelon Allen. Then, their brilliant plan was to bring back Zeke.

I cant think of many positions that arent a need. They need to BPA when the time comes and focus on guys that hate losing.

BPA. There are few parts of this team that couldnt use an upgrade. DT, DE, LB, S, RB, and throw in WR b/c Cooks is a free agent after this season and Dak needs targets. He is not the QB who elevates players around him. He needs playmakers around him to make him look good. We are stuck with him for at least the next 4 years, so might as well give him what he needs to make the offense competitive.
