)will we draft a WR this draft?

I doubt until the later rounds. We haven't in recent memory under Jerry and don't anticipate this year. Nothing more than a guy to compete with Stanbeck

2)is sensabaugh our defacto starter at SS or is he competing against a drafted player?

I would anticipate that. Since Sensabaugh is a one year deal, I would guess they would draft someone that could play behind him and take over next year.

3)will we draft a QB to groom behind romo? I think they will, although i still wouldn't take someone till later

4)are Free and mcquistan anygood at all or do we have to draft an OT pretty high in the draft?

Your goal is to eventually find Flo's sucessor, if they don't think they have that in Free, then yes, LT is always a possiblity. The cowboys need to start hitting on their o-line draft picks. Too many picks wasted in recent years

5)we need another CB right?

I think they need a 4th corner to take Ball's spot. With Newman's injury history, I think a corner is a definite with one of the first 5 picks.

6)are Deon Anderson's days as a cowboy numbered?

Unless they get another fullback, then no, he'll probably be part of the 53 man roster

7)everybody wants to move Jay to DE?.is it going to happen and is it a good idea?

With the signing of Olshansky, doubt any move takes place. They do need a backup to Ratiliff and if they feel that guy can morph into a NT starter by next year, then it could open up some options on the d-line.

ps-any news on Matt Mcbriar?

1) I think we'll draft a WR unless we pick one up in free agency, maybe even if we do pick one up before the draft.

2) Right now I'd say he's a starter. We will have to draft at least one safety, but who knows if a rookie would beat him out of a starting position. Probably not.

3) Yes. If not, we'll sign a UDFA. I think we draft one.

4) Who knows if they're any good? They haven't played so we don't know. I can only assume the fact that they haven't been on the field says a lot about them. I think we will draft an OT, maybe with our first pick. Depends who is on the board.

5) Yes.

6) Doubt it, but who knows.

7) No. He'll stay at NT. He might play some end, but he'll primarily be a NT.

ps-any news on Matt Mcbriar?

1. Unfortunately we only have 11 picks. I wish we had 15. I want 2 WRs in this draft. The two I want the most with the picks we have are Johnny Knox and Mike Wallace. Unfortunately both will most likely be gone by the end of the 3rd or the early 4th....and we have more pressing needs than WR at those picks. Since they will be gone, hopefully either Quan Cosby or Deon Butler will be around in the late 5th or 6th rounds. I would also like to sign Carr and Manuel Johnson as a UDFA if they don't get drafted.

2. I think Sens is the starting SS. I would still like to get a few backups. Two guys I would like to draft to back him up are hybrids.....OLB/SS Jonathan Casillas and ILB/SS Spencer Adkins.

3. I say no. If Boltus is around after the draft, hopefully we can sign him. If not, just wait until next season and go after Colt McCoy.

4. I believe we are sour on McQ. As far as Free goes, I have never seen him in a game. I don't know anything about him. I do not have any idea if we draft an OT with one of our top 2-3 picks. I wouldn't though. After the 5 or so that are slated as 1st round talents....there is a huge drop off in talent.

5. Yes, we need another CB, or even two. Sean Smith is an absolute pipe dream. I like Mark Parson, but he will probably take a 3rd rounder. Two late round prospects I like are Brice McCain and Wopami Osaisai.

6. Who knows. I am not a fan of Cricket. He is often injured and doesn't block as well as I would prefer from a FB. I am not a fan of hybrid FBs for our team. I would prefer throwbacks like Moose and Newhouse. This is why I wanted us to get Lorenzo Neal in FA. With Neal, we could definitely commit to a power running game with our 3-headed backfield. Neal brings a physicality and attitude to the running game that we haven't really had since the days of Moose and Emmitt. In our division, we need to get back to the basics. I hope Dallas will still sign Neal, if he is still available, cut Cricket....and commit to being a power running team. I mean what is the use of having one of the biggest offensive lines ever assembled, if we are not going to bulldoze opposing defenses?

7. Remember at the end of Empire Strikes back when Luke got a new hand......well come next season. McBriar will have a new bionic foot.

3)will we draft a QB to groom behind romo? No...with Romo and Kitna, we'll go back to the old days of carrying only 2 QB's on the roster and stashing someone on the PS...if you draft a QB, you're probably going to lose him or have to put him on the 53 man roster...I think we'll go UFA again.

4)are Free and mcquistan anygood at all or do we have to draft an OT pretty high in the draft? I think both can play, but we'll still draft 1-2 OL this year.

5)we need another CB right? Absolutely...but only for depth

6)are Deon Anderson's days as a cowboy numbered? I wish, but FB's are not easy to find anymore.

7)everybody wants to move Jay to DE?.is it going to happen and is it a good idea? No...Jay will be the starting NT, but if we find some good depth, he may occasionally move outside to rush the QB.

We'd better draft OL or I'm gonna start swinging. No, not THAT kind of "swinging" Juke. Thought I'd beat ya to the punch there. ;)

You always beat him to the punch. We know you're the one who spikes it.

Good questions.

1. I believe they will look for speed and quickness at WR. But I don't see them passing on the BPA. This draft is deep but not elite as far as we're concerned.

2. I think Sensabaugh is sitting pretty but he'll get competition from somewhere. Again BPA.

3. Repeat BPA as your mantra. Wayne is right, too.

4. You always are looking at OT along with pass rusher, skill players, and DBs. This year add fast cover LB to that list.

5. We could use a CB/STs player. You're always looking for a CB.

6. We need a better blocking FB. But a H or F Back could be in the works as Curtis looks to be on a very large bubble. We will draft or obtain another TE IMO.

7. Ratliff is a superb 3 technique type NT for Wade's D. He'll get the majority if not all his snaps there. If we get a big NT who demands playing time because he can penetrate some as well then you may occasionally see Ratliff on the field at the same time esp with 4 down lineman schemes. Ratliff has to rest some during the game.

I'd like to know about McBriar as well. That was a very bad injury. It shouldn't affect his leg muscles although he does need to get in shape and be able to stretch. But he will likely have some pain there for quite some time. Hopefully, he'll be ok. I'm surprised there is no news and I wonder if no news is not good news in this situation.

BTW, I hope Hannah is working on his H back type blocking as well as regular TE duties. It would help cement his place on the team. I think we'll entertain a vet here as a regular TE as well. Witten was very beat up last year and Bennett is not a great H or F back.

maybe, but I bet it wont be early.

2)is sensabaugh our defacto starter at SS or is he competing against a drafted player?

I'm sure he'll be competing for the job, but I think we'll draft at least one or two safeties

3)will we draft a QB to groom behind romo?

Maybe, but I doubt they force it. This is a pretty pathetic QB draft IMO. With Kitna here, they do have the luxury of keeping just two QB's IMO.

4)are Free and mcquistan anygood at all or do we have to draft an OT pretty high in the draft?

Of the two, I think McQuistan is more likely to be replaced than Free, though both could be out if the right guys get drafted.

5)we need another CB right?

Yep.

6)are Deon Anderson's days as a cowboy numbered?

Could be. I like Brannan Southerland alot in the late rounds. The LSU kid too.

7)everybody wants to move Jay to DE?.is it going to happen and is it a good idea?

The only people that want that are people in here. It seems the Cowboy staff has very little interest in it.

ps-any news on Matt Mcbriar?

Yes, I think we'll take BWRA in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th.

Sensabaugh will be competing against a SS we take on the first day as well.

I believe we'll take a project QB, hopefully with a big arm late on the 2nd day.

We'll draft 2 or 3 OL I believe. Free and Pat haven't shown enough, and adding some insurance and guys to pressure our starters never hurts.

Yep.

Probably, especially if we draft one like I think we will.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

He'll be fine, it was a nasty injury but it happened in week 6 so he'll be fine for opening day.
