When Romo was put in as starter... alot of you had us dead and got the herse's ready.

We secured a playoff spot before season was over.
Remember when thats all you wanted???

LMAO

Sure I would like to be playing better... but you already got what you wished for and then some.... relax a little

sorry, but even with the QB change I didnt expect to "just get in the playoffs"

with the defense we have assembled and the skill people we have on offense, much better results were expected from day one, and we didnt achieve that.

We've had one injury of any consequence all season...ONE

we're 2-4 in the division, swept by the Eagles and almost swept by the Giants

we were absolutely embarrassed in 3 huge home game losses

for the 4th straight year, the team got worse as the season wore on

Time for a change

We didn't expect Romo to be a player, but we did expect our defense to play well. Instead at crunch time our defense has played with the heart of the pre-Xmas Grinch.

It's one thing to get abused by a powerful Philly OL, but it's another to lose heart and suffer the same breakdowns time and again.

We might have lost the game regardless, but at least show up. Is that too much to ask?

You might be right....But its hard after multiple embarasing performances in Prime Time..My gosh, The Cowboys have a hard time winning big time games

The good news is, IMO
The cowboys will have a better chance in the playoffs against Seatle as the 5th seed then going to Phily for a rematch as a 6 seed.

just wondering, but isnt this exactly why Parcells wanted a big 3-4 defense? so this type of stuff doesnt happen?

also, Philly didnt abuse anybody else like they did us yesterday...they had a harder time beating 5-10 Washington than they did us

Washington is playing their best football right now and should have beaten Philly. They have a real DC.

As for the 3-4, well I hate it unless it is being run by a true maestro with great weapons at his disposal. A bland 4-3 IMO is far better than a bland 3-4 because you aren't trading a DL for a LB. Defenders that can both rush as linemen and cover well are either very smart, very talented, or both. This describes about one of our four starting linebackers.

What good is getting into the playoffs with 4 weeks left in the season if the first 3 of those 4 weeks we give up 93 points on defense and lose 2 of 3 games (and nearly 3 of 3)? It's clear that there is a MASSIVE problem with our defense. Previously our offense was working pretty well but even that seems to have fallen apart.

It would be different if we were competitive in the playoffs. People are frustrated because we're so hot and cold. 4 weeks ago (before New Orleans) we looked unbeatable. Now we're horrible. We were NEVER in that game last night. As soon as we went for it (with three straight runs by Barber - I know he's been a TD machine but where's a LITTLE creativity on playcalling?) and got stuffed I said "this is over". Then when our defense gave up, what, 40+ yards in 30 seconds before that half - we looked LOST out there.

The problem, YoMick, is that twice in the last three weeks Dallas has looked completely and utterly overwhelmed and without any passion at all. The game last night for the Cowboys was- and I can rarely say I've thought this - BORING.

Sorry, but I'm with the majority of folks here who are really disheartened with where we are - playoffs or not.

10-6 (if we beat Detroit) and we're in the playoffs. Fire everyone: The defense, the O-line, the coaches, EVERYONE!

So you expected to make playoffs when Romo was came in?
I agree a change is needed.. but not just for the sake of change... its like all of the... "TO has to go" nonsense... he is and should be more of the offense... get him the ball 10 times a game... let him drop 2 but keep putting it in his hands...

It is a good point Mick. The team has alot of promise for the future and that is a great thing. What is really dissapointing is that there is no faith now in us doing anything in the playoffs. We have lost the belief that we can play with anyone because with this game and the Saints game we have proven we can not.

That is what is frustrating. We got owned. Had we just lost it would have been a dissapointed but your points would be right on the mark. But we got owned twice in the past 3 weeks and that is not a way to go ino the playoffs.

I hear you and if we were going into playoffs with Drew then I would agree. Just making it doenst really work for me... I am for the most part and all or nothing type... but this thread is merely pointing out what most wished for and NOW HAVE GOTTEN...

If we are one and done or win a playoff game it will pay off big time for
Romo... the maturation speeds up even faster

I agree yomick.

I also think we matchup well with chicago and seattle which will be our road in the playoffs. I just hope this team doesnt crumble this week going into the detroit game.

From listening to owens and then terrance newman this morning, things dont sound so good in the locker room. I dont know who the culprits are but those things at this time of the season dont sit well with me.

Again though, I think we matchup well with the hawks and the bears. So I am not giving up, nor will I ever.

The cure:

Beating the snot out of a poor Detroit team.

The team can use that game to get their confidence up and get on a roll going into the playoffs.

A truly ignorant post.

While we could be better if he was playing better... we would not be in playoffs without him. He gives us a fighting chance.

Yeah that is true. but no matter how awful that was, I think we win in seattle because of the matchups.

I believe this is a week to week league that revolve around the matchups.

We dont matchup well with philly or the nyg. We just dont. Now that the eagles have made a commitment to the running game they are an awful awful match for us.

I think the hawks will not have the ability to run on us, allowing us to sit in those two deep looks. That is to our advantage. Philly had us so confused and fatigued yesterday. They would beat us 10 times in a row if were to play them again. They just are fantastic up front. My hats off to them.

I really feel good about us going to seattle. I know everyone else were slitting their wrists yesterday. It is a week to week league though. I am not giving up.

This is a very interesting argument, quite flawed but extremely interesting.

The peculiar thing about this post is that it doesn't take into account, how expectations and job evaluations change from week to week.

For instance, at some point in the season this team went 7-3. Even though some just wanted to "get into the playoffs" and others thought the season was over when Romo started, should not our expectations changed to just wanting to get into the playoffs, or the ones that thought the season was over, should they have just kept thinking that the season was over.

No, things change on a week to week basis, it is extremely foolish to think you will have the same thoughts and beliefs about your team in week 18 than you did in week 1.

This team has woefully underachieved and is going to limp into the playoffs.

Do you guys really understand what happened yesterday, one of the healthiest teams under a Hall of Fame coach in the NFL was totally and thoroughly dominated by a Mcnabbless and Kearseless Eagles team being quaterbacked by Jeff Garcia.

Again, Mike Irvin had the nerve to say on the Pregame show that Parcells deserved coach of the year, it if was between he and Reid.

Give me a *** break  .
