Someone thought the Goal-line play calling was good

Linebacker Tim Dobbins was in on three tackles during the Chargers' goalline stand in the second quarter. But he figures he got an assist from the Cowboys for calling Marion Barber's number four straight times.
``I don't know what they were thinking but after the second time you gotta think, `don't run that play no more,''' Dobbins said. ``I don't know if they watched film or what.
``In our mind, we knew he wasn't blocking. We knew he had to get the ball. He's not getting paid to block. Everybody knows that, everybody in the stands new that. We knew it was going to be a flip or a dive, one or the other. I don't know what they were thinking.''
The stand fired up San Diego, which went into the locker room with a 10-3 lead.
``That changed the whole momentum,'' Dobbins said. ``If they scored, we might come in sad, but we all came together as a defense and we decided they weren't going to get in there. They called the same play over and over anyway.''

QB sneak would have been great, but there's many MANY times during an NFL season that opposing teams know what the offense is going to run and they cant stop it.

Why? Because you're a ****ing yard away from scoring. That's not much distance to move the ball.

And another player says they knew what was coming from Reds offense.

honestly, with our OL...we should have be able to pound the ball in from the 1 yard line.

Point is, they didn't on the first three tries, what would make you think they could on the fourth?

If anything they should have called a fake to Barber on that play and pitched it to Felix.

If you can't gain a yard you have to look at the desire of the players to be successful.

The 4th down play was just horrible though. Pulling guards. Barber looked out of synch.

I didnt have a problem with the playcalling, in fact if I were the oc and given the same situation again, I would give it to barber 4 times.

Unfortunately, just like xmas day in 06 when barber couldnt get in on 4 tries, we couldnt get in today either and we couldnt win the game.

And unfortunately our line hasn't improved since that day either.

Even I knew Barber was getting it when he lined up as FB because we ran the exact same play last week. Yes, something to be said for execution, but if you've got at least 7 players in the box all keying in on one player, one hole, pre-snap, I think the odds go to the defense.

Garrett fail.

We've actually been really good in goaline situations. I have no problem with running the ball 4 straight times. Given the situation, the calls made sense.

well, maybe we should have mixed it up with Choice or Felix at some point on that goal line drive
