Something specific to watch vs the Eagles

Julius Jones.

Don't just watch the result of the play and think "Oh he had no blocking". Pay close attention to the following:

1. Did he have a cutback or another hole he could of ran through or did he just try and go where the play was designed?

2. When he did get to the hole did he run through it at normal speed or did he BURST through the hole?

3. When one on one with a LB or DL did he just run into him or try and use his quickness/speed/moves to get by him?

4. When he gets hit did his legs keep pumping or did they stop?

5. When he has room on the outside did he explode and try to gain every yard he can?



These are where I've seen JuJo have problems this year. For example the Draw we ran against the Raiders. Sapp tackled him in the backfield. But Sapp was the only guy that had a chance at him in the backfield. JuJo could of just burst to his left and outran him or he could of put a move on him and cut inside. But he just ran and got tackled. When he had the hole he didn't burst through it.


These are things I'm gonna be paying close attention to during the game. I figured we could all do it and discuss it after we win.

I love Julius! He will be fine, but you are correct in most of what you say.

For me mainly 3 things, missing cut back lanes, not bouncing it out side when the room is there, and making people miss.

I have seen these things as well.

The blocking does need to get better, as the holes have been far and few between, but something is not right with Julius.

I am just waiting for the Julius I saw last year to show up.

I don't put all the blame on JJ, since I don't really know the particulars or tape the games for study...but he seems to have no vision this year...it's like he has on blinders. I've been very frustrated at watching him either bump into, or slow down to avoid bumping into, his own offensive linemen...I don't recall that happening last year.

I will be watching if TO stands on the star after the first offensive series of downs the Iggles get.

I am just waiting for the Julius I saw last year to show up.

If you mean the Julius we saw last year against Chi, Sea, and NYG, then I'm looking forward to that myself. So far, it's been the Julius we saw last year against Bal, Was, Phi, and NO. I think today will be different though, because it's been easier for teams to run on the Eagles than against any of our opponents so far.
