I've been looking through a lot of mocks lately and one thing that's starting to really stand out to me with the teams picking 10-16 they all have a bigger need in the Secondary then they do at Guard. If everything goes according to plan we should see Milliner off the board no later then Cleveland. That should push Rhodes, Trufant, Taylor(someone will reach) and Vaccaro. Now I expect like everyone else that there is no chance in hades one of the big 3 tackles will be there, but I will almost guarantee we'll have Cooper and Warmack both on the board at 18.

Late first to early second there is gonna be another run that can push first round talent to us at 47. Another almost guarantee to me is before pick 47 there will be 5 QB's (Smith, Barkley, Manuel, Nassib, and Glennon) and maybe 6 off the board. Also I expect to see from Minnesota at 23 to pick our pick at 47 a huge run on WR's (Allen, Hunter, Hopkins, Woods, Williams, and Bailey). We might be sitting pretty at 47 to catch a Matt Elam, Jonathan Cyprien, Jonathan Hankins, Sly Williams, Kawaan Short, DaMontre Moore, or Menelik Watson falling.

I know the draft is 3 weeks away and all sorts of speculation is thrown out there but I just felt like with a lot of these threads on here about we might not get Cooper or Warmack at 18 just look back 1 year ago when all world Guard Decastro fell to pick 24 and Zeitler didn't get picked til 27, no one values a guard in the top 15.

I feel pretty confident that Pittsburgh will take Vacarro right before us. That is one less team to worry about.

I think we should have BOTH Guards available. Guards just don't go high in the draft. Joeckel,Lane Johnson will both go before any guard. You'll probably see 2 QBs taken, several DE's and DT's. Between that, I doubt you see too many if any G's go before our pick. Worst case scenario, one will be there still.

I wish I had you guys' confidence. I realize OGs and centers drop, but both of these guys are special and this is a truly JAG QB class as far those deserving of an early pick. I know, they get overdrafted.

I know DeCastro was hyped a lot last year. I went back and looked at a bunch of Mocks and many had him in the 10-15 range. But if you watch his tape you'll see he was out of position and especially on the ground far more than Cooper and especially Warmack.

I feel certain both OGs WON'T be there, but maybe one...and that would be just fine.

It's a pretty safe bet one of the top two guys is there. They're both good players, but an OG can only be so special. And because of the influx of college OTs moving inside in the pros and the small school guys that can be taken later and developed physically, there is always supply and demand.

What's more, we can realistically take an OG in the second round and have that player start and be an upgrade for us if we want to go that direction. If we miss out on the two first round guys (we won't), we'd still be able to use that first rounder well and upgrade our OL later.

We're in a great position to upgrade OG and S early in this draft--the two positions that need it most. If it doesn't happen in round one, we'll take the BPA at any position, which also could work out really well for us. I'm just glad we're not needy at OT, QB, or looking for a pashrusher given where we're at right now. Those positions would be tough to fill with real value at 18.
