He is so young! Just looked up the ages of all the Cowboys WRs.

Cole Beasley - 24

Terrence Williams - 24

Dwayne Harris - 26

Miles Austin - 29

Dez Bryant - 24

I guess what I find crazy about it is that I think of the first 3 guys as "Young Guys" and think of Dez as a guy entering his prime.. In all reality Dez has a lot of room to grow and could be only scratching the surface.. 26-29 is the prime for most receivers and he is 2 years away from that.. Just thought that was pretty cool.

I did not know he was younger than Harris and the same age as T Will and Beasley. Very encouraging news.

Yeah I noticed that the other day. He has some great potential to make his name in the Cowboys record books. Even with these new up and coming guys like Beasley and Williams I have really been hoping that there is an approproiate role for Austin to play to these younger guys.
Something keeps telling me he is poised to make a strong showing here very soon.

He will definitely make life easier for Romo successor in 4 years or so.

Given they both have huge upsides maybe he and T. Williams could be our version of J. Jones/Roddy White in a couple of years - a majorly productive WR duo with size.

The future is certainly bright. If at some point we decide to draft a rookie QB, he's going to be set up for success with a group like that.

How about by the end of the year. And I don't mean one with a broken foot on the IR.

I noticed this the other day when discussing top WRs in the league.

Outside of Julio Jones (who is only 3 months younger), Dez is the youngest top WR in the league.

Reggie Wayne—34
Andre Johnson—32
Wes Welker—32
Larry Fitzgerald—30
Brandon Marshall—29
Jordy Nelson-- 28
Calvin Johnson—28 (Younger than most realize too… just turned 28 about 1 ½ months ago)
Victor Cruz—26
Desean Jackson—26
Demaryius Thomas—25
Hakeem Nicks—25
A.J. Green—25
Dez Bryant—24
Julio Jones—24

I thought fitz was older than that, same with Marshall and Nicks.

Dez needs to learn to not vanish when doubled I am not a hater and If it is because he does not have anyone to figure out how to get him open then I stand corrected. Many times all of our receivers, except Willams and he is just a rookie, know how to break off a route..........This must be on the coaches

When you are doubled youre doubled. Thats not vanishing, when you have two defenders on you there isnt a whole lot that can be done. Id like to see him put up video game numbers but him being covered in this way has really opened things up for the other guys.
Im happy that Romo isnt forced to try and cram the ball to Bryant in double coverage.

Dez will be 25 Nov 4th. (1988)
Beasley's birthday is April 26, 1989
TWill's birthday is Sept 8, 1989.
Harris's birthday is Sept 16, 1987
Austin is the old man of the group.

Dallas has definitely built some youth into this spot very quickly. I hope Twill/Harris/Beasley all pan out.

I've been reviewing the all-22 film, and Dez is beating the double teams more often than it seems, but Romo usually takes the easier option.

And no, the coaches really don't do much in the way of trying to get him open, outside of when they stack he and Beasley at the LOS... but I've seen that done only a few times (twice, that I can think of).

Outside of that, Bryant runs the same route a lot of times. I'd like to believe that he's out there playing decoy, but I think the play calling really is just that bad at times.

Good info. All of it.

Good young receiving core.

Not to mention a young offensive line. (if we can get someone younger in next year's draft to replace Waters.)
