I've been wanting to make this thread for a while.

The premise: Name a song that breaks away KICKS OUT and just rocks out at some point.
Musicians - what is the technical name for this?

A few to start

1.) Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven

Starts it ascent with Solo - 5:55 mark
KICKS OUT HERE - - 6:45 mark (and as we...)

***************

2.) The Who - Blue Eyes

KICKS OUT HERE - 2:19 mark (when life is....)

Yes, Zeppelin were among if not the first to do the whole light/dark thing with their music. Which basically means using different volumes for different segments of songs. Stairway was a decent example but the best I can think at least from Zeppelin is this. Notice how they go from the quiet jazzy verse parts into a loud chorus. Brilliant.

There's bunch of 'right-on' songs/jams.

I consider the Chili peppers as more like mental therapy than "setting the stage on FIRE and close the venue" kinda rock.

Ronnie James Dio/ Rainbow is some 'right-on' also.
