Sadly I think much of the hate for many of these songs is the fact they got played out to the point we never want to hear them again.....
I know I fall in that category. While I still like a few Nickelback songs, Most were songs not playable on the radio to overplay them.
The greatest thing about grunge when it started was knocking off New Kids on the Block, and Madonna from the billboard top 5.
I grew to love grunge but it was that fact that eventually made me that way..... So sick of so many pop songs from that time....
I always hated this song. I like a couple of her songs, but was never a big fan.
I've seen her a couple of times when she opened for other acts, one of them was ZZ Top in Houston. She was booed from the minute she walked on stage and solidly throughout her set. She finally got a cheer from the crowd when she finished her set and walked off. She came back to do an encore, the crowd started booing again. It was funny and sad at the same time. This was during ZZTop's Eliminator Tour in their hometown and people didn't want no dang Joan Jett.
Stairway to HeavenYeah playing out a song definitely can ruin it. I don't hate California Love by 2Pac, however, it is hard for me to listen to these days because they played THE F OUT OF IT back when it dropped. I still hear it on the radio to this day. It's not the artists fault they made a banging hit but it can get ruined for the fans by mainstream media.
Studio versions of great songs can get that way, but a great song with a great live version is very difficult to get sick of. Like when i listen to Stairway i never listen to the studio version.Stairway to Heaven
Dream On
Bohemian Rhapsody
I still like these songs, but over rotation definitely tempered my enthusiasm.
I'm not usually a fan of live renditions, except with blues. I love live blues! Stairway is definitely an exception to the rule.Studio versions of great songs can get that way, but a great song with a great live version is very difficult to get sick of. Like when i listen to Stairway i never listen to the studio version.
