I know it's easy to go off the rails overreacting, but Barham had a great camp and it carried over to his first NFL game action.

We can at least be happy for that. Maybe he can emerge as a rookie starter, which would be huge since Dee Winters is in a contract year.

Barham proved last night on limited snaps that he was a steal as the 92nd overall pick in this year's draft. Great drafting!

Barham has incredible burst, gets off blocks like a vet, and has the instincts of a 5 year player.(Not name Murray, of course!!!) Incredible display last night.

Speaking of force, Witten's spleen got ruptured from Rolando's tackle.

He's already showing that he'll be better than McClain.

Bar is like the Ed Reed of LBs. Polamalu w/ more speed. Dude is a player.

Unless you pay more attention to why he was good. It's OK to analyze skillsets and such and try to understand how those skills will translate against starting NFL players. Bar's ability to get off blocks and instincts were beyond impressive. And then add in his excellent burst and speed, and it just looks like he can play.

I don't think it's all that effective to just say all preseason performances are the same.

Hes being compared to Styles because they were in same draft class and are expected to play similar responsibilities.

I don't think Barham compares to either of the players mentioned, especially not Taylor.

I threw out Warner because the OP stated no 3rd round rookie LB was perfect.
Warner was pretty damn close, still not sure how 32 teams missed him at least twice for him to fall into the 3rd. Best coverage Mike in the league and plus plus run defender!

I saw Warner in the draft and wanted him bad. He slid because he's not a physical specimen. Reminded me of Sean Lee, he just knows where to go. An uncanny ability to know where the play is going before the snap. Can't teach that.

Bam Bam is a solid football player. Not perfect but no one in the late 3rd round is.

When I read stuff like NFL Comparison: Chop Robinson that's very meaningful.

Right now he isn't on Styles level. Someday maybe he will be. But your right it will interesting to watch their careers.

After watching last night, he may be above Styles' level. Freakish ability, including steller instincts.

I a fan of Barham but can't compare players based a preseason game.

FYI: I thought Styles was raw as a LB in college. Freakish athlete on a great team but instincts were questionable to me.

he did have a good game.. However why are we comparing him to Styles, it was Downs that was the choice that the Giants gave us they left us what we think the better player...

I'm not sure why there needs to be comparisons to a 3rd round pick or whatever Barkham was there need we don't need to put that on him He'll have his own career in the Washington commanders are gonna be the ones biting their nails and they may have picked the wrong guy up top but Barham was never going in the first round so there should be no comparisons it doesn't matter as long as our guy plays well with so far he has that's all I want that's all I care about I don't give it to who about who you're companion to..


In my mind he reminds me of Brady James I'd rather keep it in the family the guy plays downhill sideways very instinctful big enough to take on blocks and shed blocks also quick enough to get around the path of least resistance when he needs to and I the guy yeah I will start right away it'll be winters and overshown back there but they will find many spots especially on rundowns or short yardage and goal line this kids gonna be in there 'cause he likes to stick his nose in and he he is just so far what I thought he was gonna be.

Much bigger question, why are you entering a thread discussing just that when you keep proclaiming that you're not interested in this comparison? Weird.
