Sonny Styles vs. Barham

Definitely getting Fred Warner vibes with Barham
A bigger faster Fred Warner w/ more burst. Yes, I'm gushing. When I read Bar's scouting report right after we drafted him, I was like "HOLY MOLY", why did he slip to the 3rd? Easy answer, because he changed positions. He moved from OLB to edge. Which means he didn't have the technical expertise to play there. He got by completely on athleticism. That's why he slid.

Teams should've actually been impressed w/ his versatility, as he played at a high level after moving positions at the end of his college career. Thank Bog they weren't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At this point Barham is showing up. Smith is figuring out his game. Smith will be a good player maybe better then Barham but for the price paid comparison,we got our man.

Agree, I saw Brady James entire career and Brady never had this kind of ability.
Bradie was a solid MLB. Not a playmaker and not spectacular at all. Just solid, never got hurt. Did his job. Competent would be a good word to describe him.

Bradie did not possess anywhere near the physical skillset and instincts that Barham does. The comparison makes zero sense.

Want to compare him to a Cowboys LB? Howley maybe? DWare.

I can see the hype of Barham. He attacks the football the way a LB should. I can’t stand it when LB’s or defenders wait for the ball to come to them.
like last years linebackers did and wait until the other team got down to the goal line then they started to hit ballcarriers.

Haley maybe when he was the Elephant LB with the Niners....going to be a treat to watch him grow.

The ultimate compliment is that we might one day be comparing a new Cowboys linebacker to Barham.

But, I want to tap the brakes a little, he hasn't yet played in a game that counted. Still super excited for him though.

Yeah that's the thing why are we comparing a player that we were not going to choose over a player we got in the 3rd round we're talking about a 1st round player with a lot of potential for Washington has nothing to do with Barham at all The comparisons are going to be Did the Giants make a mistake by not picking downs and Thank you New York for giving us a player like downs that's it but I don't know why we're having this discussion they are not a comp they are not to be in historically compared there's nothing here that links them...
Good point. But the why? Easy, it's a division rival. Feels good and it's fun. Both great players but the rivalry makes the comp fun.

Hey debate away II don't care i'm just saying I think it's weird to have a special thread for it 'cause it's not styles versus bar hand one was a top 5 aspect went in the first round Has a lot of high hopes One was allegedly a reach in the 3rd round that was Tweener was he an outside linebacker was he a middle linebacker off tall guy I mean is he good enough some our fan base hates Michigan players like you know what I mean like they have nothing to do with each other except they both put linebacker...

But hey you wanna debate it that's great because of Styles doesn't turn out to be what he is supposed to be that's gonna be bust if Barham at best just becomes a role player you know turns into a guy like Hitchens or something that's fine because he was supposed to be much at all get expectations are much lower and that's great is less pressure..

Sonny Styles (1st-7)
Jacob Rodriguez (2nd-43)
Jaishawn Barham (3rd-92)

Watched 1st WAS game. Styles looked hesitant and slow to react. Probably nerves. Did show good speed in coverage
Watched 2nd MIA game: Rodriguez a step slow to react, but did show good sideline-to-sideline speed. probably nerves as well.
Watched 2nd DAL game: Barham was a wrecking ball near the LOS. Didn't see too much drop back/coverage play though.

Barham seems to have played with more confidence but all three are likely impact players

It's way too early to toss dirt on Styles and Rodriguez's careers. They can and probably will figure it all out.

It's just that the hope here is the Cowboys got a player in Barham that can make just as much impact as them; and much later in the draft.
