Let's look at this....it looks like we'll lose Robinson, Bennett, can't sign Carr unless he wants to play for less than market value. I guess we need to get out of the FA business. I'm just so PO'd about this, I can't even put it into words.

We need to just pass on FA to avoid further embarrassment. The statement "we can do anything we want in FA this year" was an obvious smokescreen since we can't seem to sign anyone other than the over the hill types.

Lets see what happens. Looked like the Carr deal was done and then the Ram s helped change that. Of course Jerruh and boys would need to re-evaluate. If Carr wants to play here he will give them the opportunity to do something. The decision just needs to be made - either way.

If we sign Carr then all is well - even if its for some more $$$$.

Status quo.....

Or we'll build through the draft....because we are so great at that:rolleyes:

This is why some teams avoid the FA business altogether for the first couple weeks. Just about everybody you pick in the 1st few weeks you have to overpay for.

there used to be a time when everyone wanted to play for the Cowboys, now, we are a joke. A player would choose another smaller market team over us, just so disappointing.

Jerruh needs to decide how many other teams may want Carr and if they are willing to pay up. What if the market isnt all that great?

Do you let Carr test the market and tell him you'll match?

Or, let him test the market and maybe he ends up in Dallas anyway?

I think we can still add some decent additions to the offensive line, which is another crucial area. I don't see how we can fix all of the holes in the team right now, this year. It's a multi year process. And it will be helped if we don't panic and overpay for Carr or whomever on the first day of free agency. And....the draft is next month.

The salary cap has leveled the playing field for all the teams. You can't overpay for a player without making other corresponding compromises with your roster.

Many teams now have new stadiums, new facilities, etc -- and just about any team has a decent chance of making the playoffs with parity the way it is.

Many, not all, of the Cowboys fundamental advantages are wiped out by revenue sharing and the cap.

That's because it's all about money. Players could care less about winning or tradition or fans. Show me the money is the name of the game.

Big part of why the NFL will slowly die, just like the NBA.

I think we need to become one of those teams because we obviously suck at signing them

I have been thinking about cults that believe in mass suicides, they have some pretty convincing brochures.

;)

Well I would go all out for Mario, with the money we were going to give Spencer and Carr if we can't get Carr.

This just goes to show how BAD JJ and the Cowboys front office has become, they just might be the joke of the NFL now. Last year with the "phone call" and now this.

After the 2007 season this team has fallen like nothing I have ever seen. JJ should be embarrassed to no end
