Soooooo - where are the Anthony Henry threads?

I like Henry and his style - but there are people here who would have you believe that he plays every bit as well as Newman. This game showed how untrue that is.

Now - he took some blame on some plays that weren't his fault - we played WAY too much Zone coverage yesterday, which is not a good idea, considering out two MLBs couldn't cover my grandmother.

But there is no way that pass to Cooley in the endzone should not have been intercepted. He had great position. If you can't get the pick, then bat it down. But had Henry made the EASY play in that situation, we aren't all sick to our stomach's today.

Now I'm not killing Henry on this - when you provide no pass rush today, they are going to pick anyone apart. And you aren't gonna get much better than Henry as a second DB - our secondary is pretty solid.

But I was embarrassed by that play. The only good thing to come out of it is that there will be Skins who think Brunell played well today and that he is some good QB or something.

We as a team GAVE it to the deadskins.....it is that simple.....they are about 10 different reason for our poor play...and all are bad!

I was never fooled by this cat. And people who think this was one bad game don't really know football. He is a plodder and can be had. Anytime Keyshawn Johnson gets open on you...that is not a good sign. Keyshawn never gets seperation and he gets open from other guys running clear out routes (which is why Antonio Bryant really went off..he was tired of clearing out for Key to make a play). I never wanted Henry...I wanted Smoot.

Well, I think any more talk of Henry being better than Newman needs to cease.

Last year what was great about him was his ability to make plays. He'd get occasionally beat and sometimes picked on, but he was rather decent in coverage and very good against the run. But he could make INT's.

This year he's not making the INT's. He's not awful, but the book is out on him that you need to use double moves to beat him. If we had a solid pass rush, he'd probably be the player whose production would most greatly improve on defense.

Henry is a good solid BIG CB but he is not a top 10 CB or anything close.
He does his job usually pretty well. He and a lot of others had a bad game yesterday. Singling him out is just plain stupid.

sigh, I was looking forward to this game until I saw what a Mossless Commanders did to the Cowboys. The need a pass rush. In 2 years thus far, Ware hasn't learned anything. His physical talent can only get him so far. It better click soon or the Dallas defense will continue to give up plays when it really matters.

I did not create a thread specifically about him, but I did mention him as one of my game ball winners. He blew it.

I'm not trying to single him out - I just didn't see much in here by way of his play, and I wasn't around yesterday so I thought I'd comment. I love Henry and have said so many times - I think he is a good DB who is going to get hurt when you don't rush the passer at all.

I agree. The guy has played horrible 2 straight weeks in a row. He was constantly out of position against Keyshawn Johnson last week, and was out of position alot against the Commanders.
