Sorry, but Branch is a helluva receiver.
Sometimes I wonder if you guys just look at statistics or actually watch football.

He's the best WR on a 3 time Super Bowl champion team.

He's worth a 2nd, easily. Maybe a 1st.

I can only name 5 WRs that I would rather have who were drafted in the 1st round since 2000 versus 25 that I wouldn't.

Roy Williams
Larry Fitzgerald
Santana Moss
Andre Johnson
and
Javon Walker.
Maybe Braylon Edwards.

Branch is on an offense that spreads the ball around more than any other. If he were on a different team, his stats and production would be heavily increased. Replace Branch with Reggie Wayne and I guarantee you he tops 1200 yards and 10 TDs.

I watched Branch all of his college years at Louisville. Im a huge Louisville fan. The kid has talent and id love to see him in a Cowboys uni, but that will never happen. Ive always liked Branch but if the Eagles get him thats gonna have to change.

I've always liked Branch too,,, didn't follow him back in his college days but have been appreciative of him in NE. I think Branch and Terry Glenn are amazingly similar and can only imagine what it would be like to have a 3-headed WR corps like Glenn-Branch-Owens! Opposing secondaries wouldn't know what to do,,,

The danger here is that we might see Branch in an Eagles uniform. It would be a good move for them, but the "TO trauma" hangover may scare them away from another disgruntled player.

I wonder if you know he has missed at least a game a season every year and could very well be a product of having an incredibly accurate QB.

He is not bad, but he is not a top 10 receiver, yet he believes he is.

For me, it's what Branch does with the ball in his hands more than the catches he makes. He's a shifty little WR.

Seemes like all good receivers can't make it through a full season.

One of Branch's hold-out talking points has been that he is as clutch a player in Super Bowls as Vinitieri - he was a SB MVP with 11 receptions (tying a record) and in a previous SB had 10.

But he's being villifed on talk radio up here in NE (in that sad way that only NE fans can villify) as a guy who ONLY shows up in the playoffs. LOL!!!

I don't see the eagle giving up a #1 and ponying up the money Branch is asking. New England's front office doesn't either. He is an excellent player, but the eagles were unwilling to trade for Javon Walker and Ashley Lelie, so I doubt they do it for Branch.

I can all but guarantee that you are correct. Javon Walker was tailor-made for their offense and they passed.

Damn those big-game players. Always showing up when it matters.

He's a nice player, but he isnt a TO type franchise WR IMO, and his stats kinda prove it...he also isnt a huge big play threat, which his numbers show..somebody desperate (like Philly) might give up a 1st for him, but he's probably worth more like a 2nd and maybe something else...he averages less than 13.0 yds per catch, only has two career receptions over 50 yds and has averaged 3.5 tds per season...I really didnt realize his numbers were so average till I pulled them...I think alot of people are overrating him because of his two good performances in the superbowl recently and not looking at the total picture..he isnt worth a break the bank contract like he thinks he is

Thats another point, Walker although injured was the best fit for the eagle's wco. Terry Glenn didn't fit the Packer's wco, so I'm not so sure Branch would fit that kind of offense.

I'd rather have Branch than Lelie and maybe Walker too (only because of the knee injury). But I don't think Branch is a top 6 WR in the game. He's good no doubt and easily top 15 but a first round draft choice?....hmmm
He's not a bigtime gamechanger. I think a first round pick is too much to ask for a team that is probably not going to make the playoffs but perhaps worth it for a team that is likely to make the playoffs and draft in the mid 20s or later.

Top WRs 1-17 (loosely ordered)
TO, Smith, Chad J, Moss, Moss, Boldon, Fitzgerald, Roy W, Chambers, Harrison, Wayne, Branch, Terry Glenn, Walker, Holt, Ward, Houskajfkafjd,

Look at what they have.

Not a single player is under six foot (except the little skier they got).

A prototypical WCO receiver corps.

branch will be back in n.e., no one is gonna give up a first round pick and pay him more than 6 mil a year. he is a good player but he's not that good.he will see the 6 mil was a good offer
