Sorting out Cowboys' OL depth could create an interesting dilemma

I think the reason is he was just OK at tackle. Where as he is an All Pro left guard.

I’m not scout on this. But they don’t really eat bad contacts meaning Steele is stuck here. Steele doesn’t play LT so Guyton is stuck at LT
He started in all 17 games in the 2022 season because Tyron was injured and he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team..that's not just OK!

That’s a lot of backups when it sure seams the starting OL rarely gets injured. I guess you always want to have good depth. It helps the defense too playing against talent.

“Guyton’s made a huge step, and it's in the mentals,” Prescott said. “It's in his approach, it's in his preparation, it's in the way that he's taking care of his body working out and practicing so not going to be surprised with the jump that he makes this year because I've watched every step in the process that he's put into this and excited for him.”

True. I think at this point TJ Bass is better than Terrance Steele. Both UDFAs, but right now Bass is a better player.

I could even see him at either guard position or RT as well.
Steele is a better player when healthy but Bass has better long-term potential and salary.
Steele was really good the 2nd half of the season at RT, but a decent season means he likely goes elsewhere to get paid big money.

How confident are you in the Cowboys’ offensive line depth?
Pretty confident.

Cowboys' 2025 OL depth chart prediction

  1. LT Tyler Guyton
  2. LG Tyler Smith
  3. C Cooper Beebe
  4. RG Tyler Booker (R)
  5. RT Terence Steele
  6. OT Asim Richards
  7. C/G Brock Hoffman
  8. G Robert Jones
  9. G Saahdiq Charles
  10. OT Anaji Cornelius (R)
I'm glad to see some new blood this year! That includes the coaching staff which I consider a big upgrade from last year.

I feel very good about the interior depth. Not the backup tackles. I hope, and I'm sure they hope the Richards, Nate Jones etc step up and impress in the preseason but an experienced, quality vet would make me feel better.
I totally agree. Depth? I don’t like the starters at tackle. Steele is awful and I don’t trust Guyton. I know they aren’t going to do it but I still like Smith at LT. I think Richards should get a chance to start. Tackle scares me. Interior OL is solid though.

Fair. I think solaris did nothing to develop Guyton who has tremendous tools and really needed a guru coach. He has 2 now. Steele regressed under him. Steele just needs to get back to solid. I think/hope he will with legit coaching. Definitely reasonable to be concerned with both of them.
