I thought that was funny. You tell the opposing coach that you beat he did a great job. That's like rubbing salt in the wound.

Of course, you could tell that the whole thing was cursory and Payton wasn't even paying attention.

I also guess it's better than meeting Payton at midfield with flowers and saying, "Sorry for your loss."
