That's freaking funny!
I’ll give you that he was relatively soft. He wasn’t the admiral or the dream, but I don’t think he was overrated. He was soft. That turnaround was defensible. You just had to start pushing him around a bit. That is exactly what the Pistons, 76ers, Celtics, Bulls, and Pacers did to him and he would get mad, out of his game, and not do anything about it.
It was the bullyboy era, he was the biggest player on the court and he had Mason and Starks fight his battles.
The Glide!I go back to the days of Clyde and Earl the Pearl.
Oakley was tough as nails too. The issue wasn't that he wasn't Robinson or Dream but rather that he could be countered on offense by lesser players. Smits, Laimbeer, or Cartwright would push him around and he would fold year after year in the playoffs.I’ll give you that he was relatively soft. He wasn’t the admiral or the dream, but I don’t think he was overrated.
*You forgot Oakley
"The Glide" was Clyde Drexler. The Glide!
Here's the sounds from the giant sidelinesWhen will the weekly sounds from the sideline be released for us to see?
I thought thats who you meant. Which clyde were you talking about?"The Glide" was Clyde Drexler.
NBA Legend Walt Fraizer was nicknamed "Clyde" by fans because he wore a fedora similar to the one Warren Beatty wore in the "Bonnie & Clyde" movie back in the late '60s.I thought thats who you meant. Which clyde were you talking about?
Great nicknames in sports history among NBA players... The Dream, Magic, The Big Fundamental, The Hawk, Shaq Diesel, Sir Charles, Mamba.Underrated time for the NBA when Jordan retired. Great games on TV with the Pacers and Knicks. I remember those games as much as the usual NBA Finals highlights. Shaq and Penny. Fun team to watch in the Rockets too, even if Hakeem did dominate my boy The Admiral.
Gotta figure out what British words to use as substitutes.By the way, why is that? Too many f bombs to edit out otherwise?
Ah......got it.NBA Legend Walt Fraizer was nicknamed "Clyde" by fans because he wore a fedora similar to the one Warren Beatty wore in the "Bonnie & Clyde" movie back in the late '60s.
The thread had gone off-track with Czers reminiscing about the Knicks.
