Sounds like Wade might be getting a little tougher

I don't know if this was posted yet, if so I apologize. A couple of days ago on the Irvin show he had Marty B on. First of all he sounded a lot more grown up then he did last year, for what that's worth. He also said that he thought Wade was tougher, and that all the coaches were tougher then last season, for whatever that's worth.

He went on to say that if somebody jumps off sides, or false starts they get pulled out immediately and replaced with a backup. He said Witten, Romo, and even Ware, anybody. Will it work? Who know's but at least they are trying out there and not just talking about getting tougher. He also mentioned a lot more attention to detail at the mini camps.

Will that happen in a game if Flo false starts? I hope not, we might lose Romo for the season! But at least it "might" alleviate a lot of the stupid backbreaking penalties that this team has been know for since the Parcells days. Repetition is what practice is all about. And if you keep being pulled out because of mistakes.. maybe, just maybe it will work.

I guess will find out in another couple of weeks. It's not long now. Football is just around the corner boys and girls!

If they pull Flo and put Holland in there, it might not be a horrible thing.

I think that if there are any trade offers whispered at Jerry for Flozell, he should listen.

edit: just to be clear I said Jerry should listen not "trade Flozell!!!11!eleven"

Personally, I am hoping that they keep forgetting how to count to 11 ;-)

Man I can't wait till football starts! I thought I would be more focused at work now that there is no football, instead I have decided that this has to have been the longest off season EVER.

Psst...you guys paid Albert Haynseworth $100M to play 57% of the snaps.

I'm thrilled that they're doing this - and they should.

A big part of the team's problems was Wade's "mistakes are on me" nonsense.

Mistakes are on the men who make them.

And both Phillips and Garrett know their futures depend on cutting down on mistakes.

What I do not want to see if a guy like Colombo waving his replacement off the field.

If I'm the coach and a player tries that, he can sit for several plays.

There's a reason that rule is in place and there's a need for rules to be followed.

I hope this practice continues throughout camp and the regular season.

I applaud both Garrett and Phillips for implimenting it.

Do it during live games and it will work. A player will hate nothing worse than having a TV anaouncer calling out his miscue and how his lack of concentration got him replaced. Jimmy Johnson was the master of this tactic. He would even cut players during a game. Trust me, it got the rest of the roster's attention. It got veterans' attention the most. It bred focus.

I like that in principle, but not in execution.

I'd hate for a guy like Adams to get yanked for a play due to a false start and then have one of two things happen:

1) The next play is a run play and everyone knows it because the team's left tackle is on the sidelines

or

2) Worst case, they do try to pass and the replacement tackle whiffs and gets the QB hurt

And most likely play 10-14 games, as usual.
