Arizona safety Corey Hall will work out for the Cowboys in Dallas on Monday, according to a league source.

The 23-year-old senior recorded 35 stops (25 solo) and two sacks for the 8-5 Wildcats in 2009. Hall ended his four-year career at Arizona with 107 total tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and two sacks.

Hall’s most notable performance of the 2009 season came on September 26 at Oregon State when the senior amassed nine tackles (five solo) in a 37-32 win.

The Cowboys currently have five-year veteran Gerald Sensabaugh and four-year veteran Patrick Watkins on the depth chart at the strong safety position, both of which are restricted free agents. However, the team has been rumored to be interested in upgrading the position this offseason through the draft.

Speaking of watkins.

i think he is one of the guys that is out. Great special teamer, but has had different issues at safety.

I wouldnt be shocked if he is a guy on the block come draft time.

Block?

That means there might be a market for a career special teamer. I doubt it.

Why would they offer him a second round tender if they were just going to let him walk?

I guess that just depends if they actually draft a safety.

You never know some team may want him in some odd late round exchange.

I just dont think he will make the roster this year and I cant imagine they want to hang onto him all summer.

Unless, they have already penciled him in as a special teams leader in which case he is a big plus for the team. I thought last year he was going to be in a tough spot with hodge being drafted to be a special teams ace.

I just imagine there could be a fasano/ayodele type of thing with watkins.

Don't anyone get excited, he's a JAG. I doubt he could make the team except on PS.

Draft Scout Corey Hall News
09/22/08 - PAC-10 WEEK 4 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hall and Thomas played key roles in Arizona's 31-10 road win at UCLA. Hall, a junior from DeSoto, Texas, posted six tackles, four solo, including one quarterback sack and broke up two passes, leading Arizona's defensive effort. The Wildcat defense did not allow a touchdown and limited UCLA to 11 first downs and 196 yards of total offense (115 rushing, 81 passing). Also nominated on defense were linebacker Pat Maynor of Stanford and safety Xavier Hicks of Washington State. - Pac-10 Football

Watkins only got the original 5th round tender, and I'm with theebs. Great chance he's gone.
