This is a well-known forum with many knowledgable posters with connections - call it the six degrees of CZ. This thread is a place to share any rumors that you have heard that are tangible.

I'll lay a few on you that my content editor for a major sports website has heard. He's been fairly solid although he did whiff on some of the Shanahan rumblings (though he insists that there was more than meets the eye there).

1. Al isn't as stupid as you think. The Raiders are actually high on Crabtree and have floated the theory of Maclin/DHB in order to think teams won't take him.

2. The Skins will not trade for Sanchez. This is not because they don't want to, it's just that they don't have enough ammunition to move up for him. Getting a high pick for Campbell has proved futile for them and he will be their starter next year. He mentioned that Maualuga could be a backup plan.

3. Beanie Wells will be a Patriot. He thinks that the Pats have trading partners with a team in the early teens to scoop him up - apparently he is very high on their draft boards.

Sorry, no Cowboy rumors, but that's what happens with no early picks.

I don't think Crabtree falls that far.

Skins like Sanchez a lot.

And I can see the Pats or Eagles taking Moreno, my sleeper pick of the day.

The Cowboys have 11 picks.

The Iggles and Gay-ants have 10 picks each.

The Stinks have 5 picks.

The Skins have plenty of ammo to trade up.

They have all of next year's draft picks. :laugh2:

I laugh, but sadly for Skins' fans, it's true.

And this is why I hope the Skins would trade up for Sanchez. They'd mortgage even more picks as the team gets one year older.

Plus the fact that it usually takes a couple of years for a rookie QB to adjust. Guys like Ryan are the exception and not the rule.

I heard on WIP this morning, someone in the front office told Ray Didinger that they like a CB ahead of Moreno with their pick.

IMO, if Snyder really wants Sanchez, he'll do whatever it takes to get him.

Given the Cutler episode, it seems to me that Snyder wants to go a different direction at QB.

I really hope Snyder mortgages the Skins' future and offers a boatload to move up.

Jets and Jags have a deal in place moving the Jets up to #8 if the player they want is still available. Possibly Sanchez or Crabtree.

Watching the Skins bundle a passel of picks for Sanchez would absolutely crack me up...

Not just because Sanchez is so untested... not just because it would spell the end of the Campbell era... nope, what would crack me up is the Skins STILL haven't learned that they need to upgrade their trenches... yeah, they added Haynesworth, but they need more than that on that DL (particularly if Haynesworth reverts back to lazy form now that he's got paid)... and the only thing they've done to address their offensive line was bring back Derrick Dockery... some scouts have said, on the record, that Dock was the worst guard in the NFL last year...

It really is true, the game is won in the trenches, and the Skins are still deficient in the trenches... they should be looking to upgrade there, not at QB... with their running backs and their overall defense, they can win with Campbell at QB, though it will be winning ugly...

IF they upgrade the OL and the DL... but not until then...

Okay, my own contributions. The Cowboys feel WR and Safety are the value picks of the 2nd round.

If Hakeem Nicks, WR, North Carolina, drops out of round 1 (Giants biggest threat along with Titans to take him) I can honestly see Dallas moving up in the 2nd round to take him. Tom Ciskowski traveled to UNC personally to evaluate Nicks. He had private conversations with Butch Davis about him and they have known each other for 20+ years. There is trust there.

If Nicks is off the board (highly possible) I think we are looking at one of 2 players. Either Brian Robiskie, WR, Ohio State or Louis Delmas, FS, Western Michigan.

If all of these players are gone Dallas could look O-line or they might try to move down in the 2nd and add a round 3 pick. The focus? Possibly Rashad Johnson, FS, Alabama who had nice visits with the Cowboys.

I expect Greg Ellis to be traded today or tomorrow. If he is not, I think he will be released if we draft an OLB.

You and me both!

And I hope Hos is wrong, wrong, wrong about WR in the 2nd. :D Unfortunately he's been reliable about these things. :(

No, the meltdown would occur if JJ traded Barber or Choice to move into the first round . . .

It's interesting. I think Brown is made to order for the Pats. He just seems like there kind of back to me.

Wells seems like he's not durable enough for the Pats but I don't know. Maybe they like him that much.

I agree with this. Time for Greg to move on. Spencer either puts it up this year or becomes the new Bobby Carpenter. Maybe Carp can move back to outside, where he belongs.
