I don't even bother reading any article I see that starts with "sources say", or "a reliable source tells us".

It's just a way of washing your hands of any accountability. Theres two posts previous to this one that say St Louis is announcing Garrett as coach and another says Spagnuolo.

Here's what I think. Shanahan has built up enough respect around the league to write his own ticket. No way he's going to coach in Dallas because his absolute authority would be undermind. He's the hottest prospect, will take a year off, paid handsomely by the Broncos to work an hour on sunday giving his opinion for ESPN, Fox or someone else.

If he took another job, the Broncos would probably be off the hook for his severence check. Keep dreaming, it ain't happening.

They said the same thing about Parcells. And not to sound cocky, but I think because of Dallas' prestige/big market/etc., Dallas is one of the few places that Shanahan would want to go to.
