...So, is it really so crazy to think that Dak Prescott, the very rookie who supplanted Romo in Dallas two years ago, could someday soon be replaced himself? As of today, that seems like a ridiculous notion. And if it wasn’t for a back injury suffered by Romo in his first preseason game back in 2016, Prescott wouldn’t have even been given his chance to shine in the regular season. But strange things happen in the NFL.

Consider this. Prescott is coming off a down season in Dallas. Not only did the Cowboys not make it back to the playoffs, but they certainly played worse than their 9-7 record indicates. And much of the blame falls on Prescott, as this season proved he isn’t ready to shoulder the bulk of the offensive load in Dallas. The hope is Dak develops to the point where he can carry this team. But for now, he needs help...

Which should have been done to begin with not just with Dallas but on any team you should design your offense for the players that you have.

That pretty well was already done by Sullivan in the Cowboys 50th Anniversary Book that was published already. It would only need to become more current with the team and his selection into the Hall of Fame...

1. Dominant running game
2. Consistent and productive WRs
3. Great pass protection

There is no amount of friendliness that can get Dak to succeed if he plays like he played for the last half of this year. I'm not saying that the Cowboys have to replace Dak right now and that he shouldn't have a chance to bounce back. But a smart organization would be getting ready with the next guy at this point. Actually a smart organization would never put themselves in a situation where they were depending on one unproven quarterback without other options.

The thing is, if you have the right guy, you don't need "friendliness." I'm not saying they can do it alone. But great quarterbacks are force-multipliers.

Oh, and get this, of the 32 sacks he did suffer, 23 occurred in the seven games the Cowboys lost and just nine in the nine games they won. Sense a trend?

this is spags simply trying to cover for the coaches and front office using the injury excuse don't cut it other teams adjusted and moved on and won they act like fans are stupid or cant see or don't know what they are watching pretty condescending to me.
